BACKGROUND
Overview of CPPLI
Child Protection and Peer Learning Initiative (CPPLI) is a human-centered social development not-for-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) that was established and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in July, 2010 with the soul aim of ensuring that less privilege and vulnerable children (particularly girls) and women as well as populations affected by humanitarian emergencies have access and attain a quality life and education through building sustainable partnership with government agencies, UN-agencies, communities, individuals and other stakeholders in obtaining mechanisms and resources to achieve its aim and focus. The organization thematically focuses on Protection, Health, Nutrition, Education and Governance. Being a national and local organization, CPPLI is geographically operating in the Northeast Nigeria with tremendous technical expertise of working in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe (BAY) states due to its well understanding of the cultural dynamics and change in context of the communities in the BAY states.
Background of the project
With support from the NHF, CPPLI will be implementing child protection and education projects under the 2023 first standard allocation. The projects will be implemented collaboratively with Murmushi People Development Foundation (MPDF) across 4 locations viz; Madagali, Michika, Mubi north and Gombi, Adamawa state.
The project aims to promote the overall wellbeing of conflict affected boys and girls and their caregivers especially women to be able to cope effectivley with the nnegative consequences of the protracted conflics in the state through strengthening their resilience and restoring sense of normalcy to ensure better recovery. Following a holistic approach, the programme targets returnees, IDPs, refugees and host communities and traditional/religious leaders and people living with disabilities in order to avoid creation of further tensions and to ensure inclusive programming.

PURPOSE
The objective of this recruitment is to engage qualified candidates with relevant experience and knowledge in provision of quality case management and psychosocial support services for population affected by the conflict in Adamawa.
Responsibilities of Education officer
- In collaboration with the M&E team conduct an Education and protection baseline survey to determine key areas of intervention.
- Monitor the activities of volunteer teachers through the partners to ensure session are in line with ABEB manual.
- Monitoring of all education activities implemented by partner staff, ensuring they are contributing to the targets and indicators outlined in the programme documents and results framework.
- Support Project Manager to develop quarterly workplans and budget forecasts.
- Support implementing partners to develop quarterly activity plan and budget forecasting in line with the timeline of the project.
- Ensure that all activities implemented are in line with budget expenditure and forecasting.
- Report any issues with project implementation to Project Manager with suggestions for innovative solutions to challenges as they arise.
- Identify gaps in implementing partner capacity and support with mentoring and coaching periodically.
- Support project manager in preparation of donor narrative progress reports on a quarterly, midterm and annual basis, or additionally as requested.
- Ensure that implementing partners are submitting monthly narrative progress reports to Street Child in a timely manner, with support and guidance to improve reporting capacity.
- Conduct monthly BVA’s with the implementing partner to ensure accuracy of spending and identify any clear areas of over or underspend that may affect the project delivery timeline.
- Provide support to project manager and MEAL team to prepare for required baseline, midline and endline assessments.
- Ensure there is a functioning information pathway with submission of project data, MoV’s and activity reports to MEAL team in order for verification checks to be carried out.
Education/Qualifications:
- Degree in social science, Education or equivalent.
Experience and Knowledge:
- At least 3 years working in international development in programme management roles.
- Experience (at least 2 years) of working in North-east Nigeria especially in Adamawa and Borno.
- Demonstrable experience in working in education or other relevant sectors.
