Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) was established in 1998 as a non-governmental Organization to serve as a collective voice of PLHIV in the Country. The Organization is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria in September 2004. NEPWHAN is now Seventeen (17) years old as a vibrant patient community network in Nigeria.

The network formed since 1998 has established structures at the zonal and all States including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and as well saddled with the responsibility of coordinating, supervising and monitoring activities and programs of over 1, 030 support groups membership across the Federation making it one of the biggest Patient network in Africa. Our GOALNEPWHAN has formed constituent bodies; Association of Youth Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (APYIN), Association of Women Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (ASWHAN), Association of Religious Leaders Living with and Personally Affected by HIV/AIDS (NINERELA+) to advocate and provide HIV programming intervention for the specific needs of their targets and members.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Driver

Location: NEPWHAN HQ – Asokoro, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Contract
Report to: Admin Officer

Job Summary

  • Driving and Maintenance of vehicles

Responsibilities
The Driver will provide transport support services to the office and performs the under listed duties:

  • Responsible for driving Project vehicles assigned to him by the Admin officer
  • Clean and inspect the vehicle on daily basis and complete daily vehicle inspection form
  • Perform basic routine check (oil, water battery, tyre pressure, lights etc.) and always with a view to identify any faults and promptly reporting same to the Admin Officer
  • Maintain a register for planned vehicle servicing and ensure that it is adhered to
  • Bring to the knowledge of the Admin Officer and if on transit an officer assigned to the vehicle and fault noticed and repairs to be carried out immediately
  • Maintain vehicle movement register and log book and ensure that staff or any other official visitor taken on a trip signs off the logbook at the end of each journey
  • Take responsibility for driving staff and visitor to all approved journeys/destinations.
  • Assist in carrying out the dispatch of all official mails/packages/ messages as may be determined by the Admin officer
  • Report to the Admin officer when Vehicle is due for refueling and fill the necessary document/form for fuel replenishment or take funds to procure the fuel and thereafter retire the advance.
  • Ensure that passengers comply with proper safety routine while in the vehicle
  • In liaison with the Admin Officer to ensure that the Vehicle is equipped with emergency first aid kits.
  • Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the Admin officer.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of S.S.C.E
  • OND / ND / NC is an advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years driving experience in Abuja
  • Mechanic Experience Is an added advantage
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Smart, Neat with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to drive both Manual and Automatic Vehicle.
