Main Responsibilities/Tasks:
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Ensuring that all office or residential spaces (e.g., offices, kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas) are clean and hygienic.
- Regularly sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors and surfaces.
- Cleaning windows, furniture, and equipment as needed.
- Washing and ironing linens, curtains, and other fabrics, if applicable.
Kitchen and Food Preparation Support
- Assisting in maintaining kitchen cleanliness, including washing utensils, dishes, and surfaces.
- Preparing beverages and sometimes simple meals or snacks for meetings or staff events.
- Managing the disposal of kitchen waste appropriately.
Stock Management
- Monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other household items.
- Ensuring the appropriate use and storage of cleaning materials to avoid wastage or hazards.
Support for Events or Meetings
- Setting up and tidying spaces for meetings or training sessions.
- Arranging furniture and assisting in logistical preparations for events.
Adherence to MI Policies
- Complying with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Ensuring confidentiality and respecting the privacy of staff members and MI.
Reporting and Feedback
- Reporting any maintenance or repair needs to the relevant officer (logistics or facilities staff).
- Providing feedback on issues related to cleanliness or supplies.
Selection Criteria – Qualifications, Competencies and Experience
- Experience working in an international organization environment in a similar role.
- Proven integrity and good character.
- Knowledge of safe food preparation procedures, hygiene, and preservation
- Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Good knowledge of English Language and preferably residing in the position location (a must).
- Applicants must possess a minimum of a National Diploma/NCE certificate from a recognized academic institution.
- Applicant must have proven one (1) year of experience in a similar position with INGOs or other similar sectors.
