Context: 

Under the overall supervision of the DTM Project Officer in Nigeria and under the direct supervision of the Field Operation Assistant, the successful candidate will be accountable and responsible for collecting data as part of the Displacement Tracking (ETT, MT, BR). S/he will work in close collaboration with the partners on the field in the areas (s) s/he has been assigned to.

Core functions/Responsibilities: ETT

  1. Be responsible for sending the information collected on the field to the Field Operation Assistant on a timely manner and according to the standards and requirement of the DTM program. 
  2. Triangulating collected data based on DTM methodology with relevant partners. 
  3. Monitor and evaluate the DTM operations, identifying areas of improvement and enhanced efficiency. 
  4. Carrying out manual rapid registration where needed. 
  5. Support and conduct with Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) to be used in updating MT data. 
  6. Support and conduct with Point of Entry assessments (POE) to be used in updating MT data. 
  7. Support other DTM activities which includes BR, POE, FMP and Mobility tracking when required.
  8. Regular monitoring of movement within Accessible Areas (AA) and Non-Accessible Areas (NAAs) where there is much movement for possible update.  
  9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned. 

Core functions/Responsibilities: Mobility Tracking

  1. Provide support to relevant partners on data collection based on the DTM’ methodology and tools. 
  2. Collect data according to the DTM’ methodology and tools following a pre-established schedule. 
  3. Monitor and evaluate the DTM operations, identifying areas of improvement and enhanced efficiency. 
  4. Be responsible for sending the information collected on the field to the Field Operation Assistant on a timely manner and according to the standards and requirement of the DTM program. 
  5. Reporting and updating of sudden movement and continuous tracking of both IDPs and returnee population in state of operation for possible update.
  6. Regular monitoring of movement within Accessible Areas (AA) and Non-Accessible Areas (NAAs) where there is much movement for possible update.  
  7. Coordinating and supporting field staff (Data collectors) for MT activities. 
  8. Verification of MT activities for proper Data entry and documentation. 
  9. Monitoring and updating movement after Round of assessment. 
  10. To collect data during rounds assessments
  11. Support and conduct with Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) staff in updating MT data. 
  12. Support other DTM activities which includes ETT, POE and FMP when required.
  13. Verification of new arrival/returnee and departure in the MT coverage location and to update the available data. 
  14. To ensure accurate information are collected in the field and provide best data on both IDPs and returnees in all accessible locations in state within the stipulated time frame. 
  15. Verifying data collected after the round before sharing with the Data entry.
  16. Check mate data collected with the partners for validity and accuracy.
  17. Assist in preparing work plan for MT round for proper and timely data capturing. 
  18. Ensure stipulated time frame for MT rounds and to achieve with the best output.
  19. Provide and assist in updating MT rounds as well dissemination.
  20. Provide all logistics support to achieve the set-out objectives.
  21. Support in Stability index and return intentions surveys/assessments.
  22. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Core functions/Responsibilities: Biometric Registration

  1. Provide support to relevant partners on data collection based on the DTM’ methodology and tools. 
  2. Responsible for community mobilization and sensitization in different location proper to the commencement of the biometric registration (data collection)
  3. Responsible for distribution of tokens to the internally displaced persons in various locations prior to biometric registration
  4. Support other DTM activities which includes ETT, POE, FMP and Mobility tracking when required.
  5. Provide technical assistance during registration.
  6. Ensure data are entered correctly during the biometric registration.
  7. Ensure proper coordination with partners during joint activities.
  8. Ensure protection issues are treated accordingly and reported to the appropriate channel.
  9. Ensure all data collected are confidential and not to be shared with external persons or group.
  10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Experience:   

  • Experience in the field of humanitarian assistance is an advantage.
  • Experience in data collection is an advantage.
  • Experience in community mobilization is an added advantage.

Languages:

  • Good knowledge in English, Hausa and Kanuri and Native languages is advantageous. 

**For hard-to-reach LGA’s local understanding of the terrain is a MUST.
