The International Committee of the Red Cross – ICRC- (www.icrc.org) is an independent humanitarian organisation, neutral and impartial. Maiduguri Sub Delegation is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the vacancy below
Under the direct supervision of the Dispatcher 2, the Dispatcher 1 dispatches vehicles in a safe, objective-driven and economical manner and organizes driver`s assignments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Independently works to ensure that the fleet is used in a rational manner
- Organizes and plan drivers’ duties and assignments; dispatches the assigned vehicles (drivers and cars are sufficiently available, and efficiently utilized for daily tasks and field trips)
- Monitor and record vehicle use and fuel consumption with the aid of fleet wave
- Ensures Management of keys for the fleet under supervision
- Keep track of all vehicles movement under the fleet using the Humanav (Nocvacom) tool provided by the ICRC
- Process all field trip request from all units using the STM platform or any other provided by the ICRC
- Where necessary; checks that field trip forms are appropriately filled and correspond to the assignment mission
- Checks that logbook are filled out appropriately by drivers and other vehicle users • Function as an auxiliary driver when the need arises (up to 50% of his activities) • Cover the day to day fleet activities when dispatcher 2 is absent.
- Coaches and train drivers to prevent corruption and smuggling
- Analyse and mitigate risk (vehicle looting and safety hazard) in dangerous locations; the daily monitoring of the environment, analysis of security & safety, cultural, religious and political environment in the AoR as well sharing the information with the HoSD (Security responsible) and Yola Information Management Group
- Takes all necessary steps implementing/contributing to the delegation’s security rules (Accident procedure and contact with authorities (Police & FRSC), Med evacuation and road mapping for exit during field trips)
- Prepare accident forms, waiver & insurance in all vehicles, follow up all accident reports within and outside working hours involving ICRC asset
- Assist in the assessment of standard commercial means of transport when requested
- Follows up breakdowns, complaints and other issues to the Vehicle Fleet Manager (Functional Supervisor) as well report security issues to the HoSD
- In collaboration with welcome, supervises and coordinates airport pickups and drop offs by duty drivers
Education and Experience Required
- Secondary School or Technical/Professional School Diploma
- 2 years minimum working experience in the field of fleet
- Driving license class B
- Familiarity of the All-Terrain (4 x 4) vehicle
- Knowledge of the VHF and HF radio operations
Desired profile and Skills
- Good command (Spoken and Written) of English/knowledge of native language
- Very Good computer skills proficient in Excel and Word
- Knowledge of the geographical area of operation
