Digital and Communications Officer (Volunteer) at Creative Youths Initiative – Remote

Creative Youths Initiative (Crea8 Africa) is a youth-focused social impact organisation committed to empowering young people through creativity, innovation, technology, entrepreneurship and inclusive development. We design and support initiatives that help young people build practical skills, access opportunities, develop sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Our work spans youth development, digital and technology skills, entrepreneurship, creative industries, inclusion, advocacy, training and community development. We also explore partnerships with organisations, businesses and institutions to create opportunities that connect young talent with employment, learning and impact.

 Job Title: Digital and Communications Officer (Volunteer)

About the Role

  • We are seeking a creative and proactive Digital & Communications Officer to help grow our digital presence, communicate our impact and engage young people and partners across our platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow Crea8 Africa’s social media presence.
  • Create engaging content, including graphics, videos, captions and campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain a simple content calendar.
  • Support website updates, newsletters and digital communications.
  • Promote Crea8 Africa’s programmes, opportunities, partnerships and impact.
  • Monitor digital engagement and provide simple performance insights.
  • Maintain a consistent and professional brand voice across platforms.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creativity and an understanding of social media and digital trends.
  • Experience with Canva and social media platforms.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Passion for youth development, innovation, creativity and social impact.

Commitment:

  • Approximately 5–8 hours per week. Unpaid volunteer position.
