Context
Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, not-for-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in distress, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.
MSF has been active in Katsina since February 2021 after carrying an exploratory mission that end up with an opening of the project under the Emergency-Cell.
Currently, MSF is running an ITFC (Inpatient Therapeutic Feeding Centre) in Katsina in the Kofar Sauri PHCC and Turai Yar’Adua Hospital and 8 ATFC (Ambulatory Therapeutic Feeding Centre) including four in Jibia LGA (Magama, Daddara, Gubi Magaria, Riko, Mashi, Majigiri and Sonkaya) and one in Katsina City (Kofar Marusa).
Main Purpose
Carry out all activities related to entry of medical data into the mission database, according to MSF protocols and maintaining confidentiality, in order to have reliable and up to date information.
Job Description
- Enter medical data (e.g. patient data, dates of visit, content of prescription, viral load, etc.) in mission’s database on a regular basis and according to MSF protocols.
- Participate in compilation of data both from MSF structures and from collaborating health facilities. o Participate in the search for missing data. o Update files of existing patients and make any corrections needed.
- Make regular back-ups of all data processed.
- Look after all equipment provided and keep recording area clean and tidy, giving special importance to all patient files.
- Report any issue concerning data management to superior o Elaborate statistical reports when required by the medical team.
- Ensure, promote and maintain confidentiality regarding all information registered.
- Provide feedback to ATFC and/or ITFC supervisors regarding data inconsistencies and quality (including systematic issues)
- Provide regular feedback to epidemiologist regarding quality of data in file and inconsistencies o Ensure that the medical files are filed in an orderly manner for retrieval of active cohort and archiving
Performing any other task, specific to his/her area of specialty, as defined in his/her job description and according to the line manager.
Requirements
| Education | Secondary education essential. |
| Experience | 1-year experience as a data recorder is mandatory |
| Languages | Essential, local language commandment desirable, mission working language (English) |
| Knowledge | Able to learn and use software used for recording (i.e. Fuchia, EpiInfo, etc.) Computer literacy (Word, Excel and Internet) |

Contract
208 working hours per month and flexibility is required
