BACKGROUND

Child Protection and Peer Learning Initiative (CPPLI) is a human-centered social development not-for-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) that was established and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in July, 2010 with the soul aim of ensuring that less privilege and vulnerable children (especially girls) and women as well as populations affected by humanitarian emergencies have access and attain a quality life and education through building sustainable partnership with government agencies, UN-agencies, private for-profit firms, communities, philanthropists, individuals and other stakeholders in obtaining mechanisms and resources to achieve its aim and focus. The organization thematically focuses on Protection, Health, Nutrition, Education and Governance. Being a national and local organization, CPPLI is geographically operating in the Northeast Nigeria with tremendous technical expertise of working in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe (BAY) states due to its well understanding of the cultural dynamics and change in context of the communities in the BAY states. 

CPIMS ASSISTANT

PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to support the implementation of the case management component of the child protection project in CPPLI funded by the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF) in line with the global best practices of the case management guidelines and the child protection minimum standards. The position holder is expected to have strong background in Child Protection programming and CPIMS+.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES              

In collaboration with the M&E and Child Protection officers as well as other relevant staff, the CPIMS Assistant will be responsible for the following:

  • Documentation of cases into the CPIMS+ and managing the case management loads of the project.
  • Ensure that case management trackers from caseworkers are updated and submitted on monthly basis and the caseloads in the trackers correlate with the cases in the CPIMS+ and the hard copy forms.
  • Support the M&E to ensure adequate tracking of the project progress and measuring of results in line with the project indicators. 
  • Support all the relevant M&E assessments and surveys in the project and share relevant data or reports where necessary.
  • Ensure high-quality implementation, in close collaboration with the Programme Manager and other project team as well as consistency in protocols, information and reporting systems.
  • Support the capacity building plan for caseworkers.
  • Utilize the training data collected to inform strategic decision-making and project planning.
  • Support targeted evaluations and operations research, including design, data collection, management and analysis
  • Ensure quality of case management data through data verification procedures, including routine data quality assurance (DQA).
  • Support the analysis and interpretation of the project data for publications and disseminations.
  • Work closely with the caseworkers, the child protection officer and other project team to support the strengthening of the Community-Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs) and other community structures within the project locations.
  • Support the production of information and knowledge management for the project
  • Perform any other task or support as may be assigned.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

  • Minimum of a University Degree or HND in related field.
  • Excellent ability in computer skills and MS Office.
  • Minimum of 2-year experience in CPIMS role and experience in Child Protection in Emergency (CPiE) programming.
  • Strong technical skills, including ability to process and analyze data using one or more statistical software packages.
  • Excellent English language writing and speaking skills, ability to speak Hausa is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to organize ideas in a logical and structured manner.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
