Job Title: Counseling Staff

Introduction

  • Join our team and make a difference in the lives of trafficking survivors! We are recruiting for the Reintegration and Empowerment Support Trafficking in Persons Program (RESTIPP), which aims to provide legal assistance, psychosocial support, and vocational training to repatriated survivors of Trafficking in Persons (TIP), specifically women and girls who have suffered sexual exploitation.
  • The project activities include community outreach, in-person sensitization, psychosocial support, and advocacy in Edo State.

Job Role

  • The role of Counseling Staff is critical in supporting individuals affected by the organization’s work, including staff members dealing with stress or trauma and beneficiaries such as victims of crime or drug addiction.
  • This role involves providing psychological support, crisis intervention, and promoting mental well-being within the framework of UNODC’s missions and operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological and psychosocial support to survivors of TIP.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Refer critical cases to specialized mental health services.
  • Maintain detailed records of counseling sessions and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with legal and vocational training teams to support holistic recovery of beneficiaries.

Job Qualifications

  • A Degree in Psychology, Sociology or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Migration, Reintegration, or related fields, preferably in the NGO sector.
  • Provable experience in Grant writing and Management.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer software applications, including Microsoft Office suite and statistical analysis software.
  • Must reside in Edo State.
