Background
Center for Child Care and Human Development (C3HD) is a Child Centered and Women Focused (CCWF) non-governmental, non-tribal, non-religious and non-profitable organization established and registered with state in 2017 and later registered as a non-profit organization with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
C3HD was established to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable communities and especially women and children, people with disabilities and those affected by conflict and insurgency through maximizing contributions to Health care and wellbeing, Education, WASH, Gender, social and disability inclusions, Protection, Peace Building, and Economic recovery and Livelihood.
C3HD is striving for an all-inclusive community and human development for all, including populations who are marginalized, underserved or affected by conflict or insurgency, catering to their health and wellbeing. We have a mission of transforming the lives women and children on the edges of society and help them regain and pursue their dreams for sustainable development.
C3HD acts as an agent for change. For 5 years and in 4 states (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa and Kano States), we help women and children to overcome the massive problem they face through reducing inequality in accessing health services and education, responding to violence and exclusion,
promoting food security, empowerment, peace and resilience building of communities to be able to withstand and respond to future hardships. We employ “the protective communities’ approach” to our programming’s by mainstreaming safeguarding and protection in our activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of National Diploma (ND), NCE in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, Communication, Psychology, or related field.
- Training in Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), PSEA, or Safeguarding is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of MEAL systems, and humanitarian standards (CHS, Sphere).
- Strong communication skills in English plus local languages (Hausa, Kanuri, or relevant community languages).
- Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Kobo, ODK).
- Strong ethical conduct and confidentiality handling ability.
Experience
- At least 1–3 years’ experience working in accountability, MEAL, protection, or community engagement roles.
- Experience managing feedback channels (hotlines, helpdesks, suggestion boxes, community meetings).
- Experience handling sensitive complaints including SEA, safeguarding, and GBV cases.
- Experience working with vulnerable communities in humanitarian settings.
- Experience preparing MEAL or accountability reports.
- Experience facilitating community sensitization and awareness activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience dealing with community leaders, women groups, and youth.
Responsibilities
- Manage all CFM channels including:
- Helpdesks
- Suggestion boxes
- Hotlines / phone calls
- WhatsApp/SMS feedback
- Community meetings
- Field visits
- Receive, record, classify, and follow up on complaints and feedback.
- Ensure timely referral and closure of all cases according to SOPs.
- Maintain updated CFM databases and feedback logs.
- Ensure accurate documentation of complaints in line with confidentiality standards.
- Support MEAL unit in producing weekly/monthly CFM reports.
- Receive and safely escalate SEA-sensitive complaints to the Safeguarding Focal Point.
- Ensure complainants receive confidential and survivor-centered support.
- Conduct community awareness sessions on PSEA reporting mechanisms.
- Ensure protection of complainants against retaliation.
- Conduct community sensitization on:
- CFM channels
- Service entitlements
- PSEA and protection
- Engage community leaders, women groups, youth groups, and persons with disabilities.
- Support establishment of community committees and focal persons.
- Regularly check and empty suggestion boxes.
- Ensure helpdesks are functional during activities (distributions, health services, etc.).
- Monitor feedback trends and advise programs on improvements.
- Identify and report gaps in access to feedback channels for women and vulnerable groups.
- Produce weekly and monthly reports on:
- Number of complaints received
- Types of complaints
- Status of follow-up
- Sensitive cases and response timelines
- Recommendations for program improvement
- Share accountability dashboards and findings with program and MEAL units.
- Work closely with MEAL, Safeguarding, Protection, and Program teams.
- Participate in coordination meetings and provide data for donor reports.
- Support training of field staff and volunteers on CFM and PSEA.
