Restoration of Hope Initiative (ROHI) is a national Non-Governmental Organization based in Yola with a field office in Maiduguri Borno State. ROHI having operational presence at some of the hard-to-reach LGAs of Borno and Adamawa States is being funded through collaborations with other international NGOs and through UN based Funding. ROHI, together with the consortium partners will work towards improving attendance and learning outcomes for children affected by conflict in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe State. ROHI is currently seeking qualified candidates for the positions of:

Role Purpose
Support to ensure commitment and involvement of local authorities and community members in the programme. Support community mobilization to ensure participation of children to learn through multiple shifts and also remote learning programmes.
Scope of Role:
- Reports to: Education Officers
- Persons directly reporting to this post: Community Volunteer Teachers and Community Volunteers
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Mapping of communities within the IDP Camps/Host Communities.
- Identification of adolescents to lead “adolescent led initiatives” within the IDP Camps.
- Develop a feedback mechanism for communicating ROHI’s programmes.
- Develop and sustain strategic relationships with other agencies within the IDP Camps/Host Communities.
- Develop a community mobilization strategy in collaboration with the community volunteers and ensure implementation of project at sites.
- Conduct step down trainings and mentor local community support teams.
- Enrolment of learners for radio learning clubs
- Track attendance for radio clubs and formal classes.
- Support the collection and documentation of impact and success stories on monthly or quarterly.
- Participate in the preparation or review of programme monitoring and evaluation tools where necessary
- Supervise distribution of learning, teaching aids, workbooks, radios, uniforms, socks and sandals.
- Keep all documentations updated
- Carry out monthly sensitization on back to school, COVID –19, and PSEA
- Ensure social distance and other COVID- 19 preventive measures are adhered to project sites
- Ensure correct use of programme monitoring and evaluation (recording) tools. • Attending local coordination meetings in the camp
- Keep the community updated on project activities.
- Mobilize and facilitate the engagements of stakeholders during planning and development meeting.
- Prepare weekly reports of activities carried out support any other ROHI led activities as may be required
Required Skills and Experiences:
- A university degree in Communications, Social Work, Psychology or related Social Science field with minimum of 2 years’ experience in community mobilization/campaign will be given priority consideration.
- Substantial experience in Community Mobilization and Advocacy.
- Good understanding of strategies for achieving quality education and child protection Psychosocial programming through participatory processes.
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills and demonstrable ability to think strategically, innovatively and practically to ensure achievement of desired change objectives.
- Zeal and commitment to work with Children.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences at local levels.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with partner agencies
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, adaptability and ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Good computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email/internet).
- Fluent English language (written and verbal) and ability to speak fluency in community’s language is an added advantage
