At Tema Thrive Humanitarian Organization (TTHO), we are a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities in Nigeria through sustainable programs in food security, education, health, legal aid, and protection services. Since our establishment on January 27, 2025, We are on the verge of impacting lives with mobile health services, empowering women and persons with disabilities through livelihood training, and establish community gardens to boost food security.

Volunteer Role: Community Impact Volunteer

As a Community Impact Volunteer, you’ll be at the heart of our mission, working directly with communities to deliver life-changing programs. Your efforts will help uplift vulnerable populations, including women, children, and persons with disabilities, by fostering resilience and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of programs in food security, education, health, or protection services (e.g., assisting with community gardens, literacy workshops, or mobile health clinics).
  • Engage with community members to promote awareness of TTHO’s initiatives, such as gender-based violence prevention or child protection campaigns.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating training sessions, workshops, or community outreach events.
  • Collaborate with field officers and program managers to collect feedback and monitor program impact.
  • Contribute to administrative tasks, such as data entry or event logistics, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

Your work will directly contribute to sustainable community development—whether it’s helping a woman start her own business, supporting a child’s return to school, or providing vital health services to underserved areas. You’ll be a catalyst for hope and change, making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.

Desired Skills and Qualities:

Education: Minimum of a high National diploma, degree or equivalent; in social work, community development, education, public health, or a related field is a plus but not required.

  • Passion for humanitarian work and a commitment to TTHO’s values of inclusivity, empowerment, and dignity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with diverse community members.
  • Teamwork and adaptability to thrive in dynamic, community-driven environments.
  • Basic organizational skills; prior experience in community work or volunteering is a plus but not required.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of local language is a plus.

Logistical Details:

  • Time Commitment: Flexible, with a minimum of 8-10 hours per week. Opportunities for both short-term and ongoing volunteering.
  • Location: Primarily based at our office in Maiduguri, Borno State (No. 606252, Molai Road, Behind Isa Bati House, Polo), with some fieldwork in nearby communities. Remote volunteering options may be available for specific tasks.
