Background    

Center for Child Care and Human Development (C3HD) is a Child Centered and Women Focused (CCWF) non-governmental, non-tribal, non-religious and non-profitable organization established and registered with state in 2017 and later registered as a non-profit organization with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).    

C3HD was established to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable communities and especially women and children, people with disabilities and those affected by conflict and insurgency through maximizing contributions to Health care and wellbeing, Education, WASH, Gender, social and disability inclusions, Protection, Peace Building, and Economic recovery and Livelihood.     

C3HD is striving for an all-inclusive community and human development for all, including populations who are marginalized, underserved or affected by conflict or insurgency, catering to their health and wellbeing. We have a mission of transforming the lives women and children on the edges of society and help them regain and pursue their dreams for sustainable development.     

C3HD acts as an agent for change. For 5 years and in 4 states (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa and Kano States), we help women and children to overcome the massive problem they face through reducing inequality in accessing health services and education, responding to violence and exclusion, promoting food security, empowerment, peace and resilience building of communities to be able to withstand and respond to future hardships. We employ “the protective communities’ approach” to our programming’s by mainstreaming safeguarding and protection in our activities.     

Job Requirements:

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated CFRM Desk Officer (Volunteer) based I Bade to join our team in Yobe State. 
  • The CFRM Desk Officer will be responsible for overseeing the Child and Family Reintegration and Monitoring activities within our programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Desk Officer, Community Feedback and Response Mechanism (CFRM) will be supporting the process of ensuring that the principles of transparency, participation, and accountability are integrated into all aspects of the project.
  • They will support the design, implementation, and management of a robust Community Feedback and Response Mechanism (CFRM) that enables project stakeholders, particularly marginalized and vulnerable community members, to provide feedback and voice concerns about project activities.
  • The post holder will also be the focal point in implementing accountability activities which would range from weekly visit to project locations gather complaints, escalate them to the appropriate unit for them to be solved, Input complaints into the C3HD Complaints database and produce periodic reports.
  • The role holder is expected to have a basic knowledge of the Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) guidelines, Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) principles and other relevant accountability guidelines.
  • The project is being implemented in Bade Yobe State, but the position holder is expected to have frequent travel to other sites on a need basis.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • The role is key in providing Accountability support through complaints logging, management, tracking, analysis.

Technical Assistance-Accountability and Community Feedback Mechanism:

  • Support the establishment of helpdesk/information table for use at the community level.
  • Support the development and the entry of complaints into the C3HD Complaints database.
  • Prepare Bi-weekly reports showing the various categories of complaints and the status of the complaints.
  • Monitor and analyse feedback received through the CFM system to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, and report findings to relevant project teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide training and capacity building to project staff, partners, and local stakeholders on accountability principles and the effective use of the CFM system.
  • Support and ensure quality implementation of accountability mechanisms and information provision plans.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate follow-up on feedback received, including addressing concerns, sharing updates, and making necessary adjustments to project activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Gender, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in CFM, GBV, Child protection, family reintegration, or related fields, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
  • Strong understanding of child rights, protection principles, and best practices.
  • Experience in case management, counselling, and psychosocial support for children and families.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
  • Fluency in English and local languages spoken in Yobe State.
  • Knowledge of community dynamics, cultural norms, and local context in Yobe State is preferred.
