About The Job
The Community Case Worker will support the implementation of community-based case management activities by identifying individuals with protection concerns, conducting safe and confidential assessments, facilitating referrals, monitoring cases, and supporting vulnerable individuals and households to access appropriate services. The role also involves community engagement, awareness raising, protection monitoring, and collaboration with local leaders and service providers to strengthen community-based protection systems.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Case Management Officer, Protection Officer, community structures, and partner organizations to ensure that protection interventions are delivered in accordance with humanitarian principles, safeguarding standards, confidentiality requirements, and a survivor-centred approach.
Location: Adamawa State (Yola North, Yola-South, Numan, Demsa, Lamurde, Girei and Fufore).
Job Type: Six (6) Months contract

Key Responsibilities
- Identify vulnerable individuals and households with protection concerns through community outreach, home visits, referrals, and protection monitoring activities.
- Conduct safe, confidential, and respectful intake interviews and basic needs assessments using approved case management tools.
- Support the development and implementation of individualized case action plans under the supervision of the Case Management Officer.
- Provide regular follow-up to ensure beneficiaries receive appropriate support and services.
- Facilitate timely referrals to health, psychosocial support, legal aid, child protection, GBV, shelter, food security, livelihoods, and other available services in accordance with established referral pathways.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date case files and documentation.
- Support community awareness sessions on protection, safeguarding, child protection, GBV risk mitigation, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), available services, and referral mechanisms.
- Strengthen collaboration with community leaders, volunteers, women’s groups, youth groups, and persons with disabilities to improve community protection systems.
- Monitor and report emerging protection concerns and trends affecting flood-affected communities.
- Participate in coordination meetings, supervision sessions, and capacity-building activities.
- Prepare timely daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports.
- Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, impartiality, and the organization’s Code of Conduct in all interactions with beneficiaries and colleagues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of OND / NCE or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Sociology, Community Development, Public Health, Education, or a related field.
- Additional training in case management, protection, GBV, child protection, safeguarding, or humanitarian programming is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in humanitarian or development programmes.
- Experience in case management, protection, GBV, child protection, community outreach, or psychosocial support.
- Experience working with flood-affected, displaced, or otherwise vulnerable populations is highly desirable.
- Experience working with community structures and local stakeholders.
- Familiarity with humanitarian referral pathways and protection principles is an advantage.
