PLCI BACKGROUND
Portrait of Lake .hild Initatie (PL.I) is a non-proft, Non-Goiernmental Organizaton established in 2019 to portray the image of children liiing across the Lake .had region, with sole aim of responding to the needs of the most iulnerable girls, women, children, and their caregiiers through contributons to their Educaton, Health, Protecton (GBV and .P), efect of climate change, food security and Liielihood. Its mission is to mobilize, motiate and sensitze out of school children especially girls between the age of 6-18 with low socio-economic status in the lake .had Region, through proiiding seriices that increases access to school and encourage enrolment opportunites for out of school children and protect them from all forms of iiolence
PROJECT SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW
Portrait of Lake .hild Initatie (PL.I) in partnership with Grow Strong Foundaton (GSF) sets to implement an NHF funded project with ttle: Promoting Access to Multi-ectoral Preveitoi aid Respoise to protectoi -ervices for Womei aid Girls ii Yobe -tate. This project aims to address negatie cultural norms, proiide safe spaces, support traditonal leadership systems led by women, and increase reportng to SAR. in order to reduce iulnerability to GBV while reducing the risk posed to women and children by Gender-based iiolence, child abuse, and explosiie ordinance. Through this mult-sectorial project seek to mitgate protecton risks that arise from limited or no access to basic seriices through mult sector collaboraton with Mine Acton and Gender base iiolence partners. The project proiides child protecton case management, GBV case management and basic PSS to UAS. and other iulnerable children in three high-priority LGAs in Yobe State (Potskum, Fune and Gujba) for a 12month duraton
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This positon is responsible for ensuring proper and quality implementaton of the Gender Based Violence .ase management component of the .hild protecton programme. The .ase Worker will be responsible for case management and psycho-social support of iulnerable women and girls, including suriiiors of iiolence, in the project sites. S/he will need to ensure response to immediate child protecton issues with simultaneous consideraton of longer term needs and possible scenarios. Depending on the situaton the staf may need to take a iery actie role in community base coordinaton, support and adiocacy with the state specifc child protecton partners and other stakeholders and technical agencies releiant to the sector. Major Responsibilites
- Proiide direct, one-on-one and ongoing case management seriices, including safety planning
- Proiide direct, one-on-one emotonal support to suriiiors throughout case management process including fnal case eialuaton and closure
- Proiide referrals for suriiiors to other seriices including child protecton and specialized mental health seriices, accompany of suriiiors where appropriate and conduct follow- up to ensure appropriate seriices haie been proiided to the suriiior.
- Identfy gaps in referral seriices and report these gaps to the GBV Manager for acton.
- Liaise with community iolunteers for purposes of suriiior follow-up as part of case management to indiiidual suriiiors.
- Ensure suriiior-centered seriices, including adherence to guiding principles of respect, confdentality, safety and security and non-discriminaton
- .omplete and maintain case management records to maximize confdentality and safety
- Partcipate in case reiiew meetngs and referral coordinaton meetngs if needed
- Submit case management reports on a weekly and monthly basis
- .onduct an analysis of trends of GBV incidences and related informaton on a quarterly basis and present report to the GBV manager for adiocacy and program future program
