Job Title: Communication Volunteer

Job Summary:

The Communication volunteer is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies, managing public relations, and fostering partnerships and collaborations to enhance an organization’s visibility, reputation, and mission impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage public relations efforts, including media relations, press releases, and crisis communication plans.
  • Create engaging and informative content for various communication channels, including websites, social media, newsletters, and annual reports.
  • Cultivate relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure coverage and positive exposure for the organization.
  • Oversee and maintain the organization’s social media presence, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement with the audience.
  • Manage and update the organization’s website, ensuring it reflects current activities and news.
  • Plan and coordinate events, conferences, webinars, and outreach activities to promote the organization’s mission and engage stakeholders.
  • Identify, cultivate, and nurture partnerships and collaborations with other organizations, government agencies, businesses, and non-profits.
  • Engage donors, supporters, and stakeholders through effective communication and relationship-building efforts.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communication materials and channels.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and partnership initiatives, making adjustments as needed.
  • Manage the communication and partnership budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Head of Programs.

Required Qualification                            

Experience and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Relation, or any other related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in communication, public relations, or partnership development, with a track record of success.
  • Proficiency in communication tools and software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and social media management platforms.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling messages and materials.
  • Proficiency in media relations and an understanding of how to generate positive media coverage.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and stay organized.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to develop innovative communication and partnership strategies.
