Job Title: Communication Officer (Graphic Designer)
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
- The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media.
- Working closely with the Communications and Program teams, the Graphic Designer will contribute to the visual storytelling of the organization, supporting advocacy, campaigns, donor communications, and program visibility.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Communication Arts, Media and Communication, or any related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in graphic design, preferably in the nonprofit or development sector.
- Proven portfolio of previous work (social media graphics, reports, campaign materials, etc).
- Experience in creating culturally sensitive and inclusive visual content.
- Understanding of communication for development (C4D), advocacy, and donor reporting is an advantage.
- Experience working on international development themes (health, education, climate, youth empowerment, etc.) is a plus.
Technical Skills & Tools:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
- Knowledge of Canva, Figma, or other design collaboration tools.
- Basic understanding of video editing tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar).
- Familiarity with social media platforms and requirements for visuals.
- Good understanding of print production and file formatting.
