Job Overview
- As the Climate Security Lead, you will be tasked with co-designing, and managing the program framework for Surge Africa’s newly established project; The Skylark Centre for Climate Security. You will manage the project, conduct research, establish relationship with stakeholders, and carry out important assignments.
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Co-design and manage the program framework of the project.
- Carry out research and data analysis, conduct field visit and harmonize findings into a report.
- Support the establishment of a website, and ensure strategic communication of the project among allies and relevant stakeholders. Manage any social media account related to the project.
- Propose innovative and cutting-edge strategies on ways to scale the program, keeping in trend with emerging issues and relevance of intervention to the sector.
- Manage all aspects of the project
Qualifications
- You must be a data and research analyst with at least 3 years of experience in fields of climate security, crisis prevention, peace building and/or human security.
- Have a reasonable knowledge and experience with climate, energy and security politics.
- Have measurable and demonstrable experience crafting and conceptualizing solution-oriented dialogues focused on a high-level audience.
- A creative thinker that can develop strategic communications initiative.
- A multi-tasker that works well both alone and as part of a team.
- Must be willing to travel locally and across regions.
