Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with the corporate affairs commission, in accordance with the Nigerian Law, FRAD work in both humanitarian and development sector to build the resilience of Vulnerable populations through our interventions in thematic areas of WASH, Nutrition, Protection, Education and early recovery and livelihood. Over the years, FRAD has reached more than 19,000 children, men, women and girls through its various interventions.

Position: CHILD PROTECTION OFFICER

Qualification: BA/BSc/HND
Experience in community facilitation, child protection and case management. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience Child protection, Case Management, educational program management.
Location: Maiduguri (Covering for both Magumeri and Damasak)

Functions / Day to day activities:
The day-to-day activity of the child protection officer for FRAD Foundation is as follows:
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the quality implementation of Child Protection activities in the field.
- Lead case management activities and be the supervisor in the designated field sites, with support from caseworkers, including coordinating and sharing data with other service providers using the Case Management SOPs, CPIMS Primero, and handbook.
- Prepare weekly activity plans with line staff as necessary and ensure smooth implementation of these plans.
- Set up/strengthen Child Protection Committees including training and awareness raising on the dangers of child marriage in their communities and linking children/survivors to available services.
- Set up/support and monitor Child Protection Help Desks to identify, support, and refer children with their protection concerns.
- Monitor and assess the implementation of the program, ensuring that caseworkers are using the CPIMS Primero consistently and correctly.
- Ensure all data from the case management are kept confidential and only shared on a need-to-know basis and following case management ISP.
- Represent FRAD when necessary at the community level i.e. Sector meetings etc and negotiate with local authorities when necessary.
- Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely and safe delivery of supplies allocated to field activities.
- Adhere to FRAD safeguarding policy and report where necessary.
- Perform other functions relative to child protection activities and initiatives that may be assigned by the line manager.
Requirement:
- Good understanding of community politics and traditional networks in program location.
- Excellent technical understanding of child protection and community-based approaches.
- Good computer knowledge and skills.
- Be able to priorities tasks.
- Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
- Able to operate in extremely harsh living and working environment.
- Gender awareness and sensitivity
- Commitment to the vision and mission of FRAD Foundation. In particular, a good understanding of FRAD’s mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support.
- PSEA and Safeguarding certificate
- Fluency in oral and written English is required.
- Fluency in Hausa and one of the languages spoken in North-East Nigeria is preferable.
