FAWE Nigeria is currently seeking a Consultant to enhance education stakeholders’ capacity in addressing School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SR-GBV) policies.

This opportunity aims to empower stakeholders to actively contribute to inclusive, participatory, and open dialogue surrounding SR-GBV policies in Nigeria.

BACKGROUND
The Forum for African Women Educationalists was established in Nigeria in 1996. FAWE Nigeria’s work is to encourage government, international organizations, and local communities to enact policies and provide positive learning environments that treat girls and boys equally. FAWE Nigeria’s priorities include; addressing constraints to access, retention, and performance in the educational process, undertaking advocacy to raise awareness and influence policy, practice, and attitudes, developing gender-responsive models for training teachers, improving learning processes and environments, and empowering girls and facilitating the replication and mainstreaming of FAWE’s best practices into national education systems.

Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), Nigeria with support from Together for Girls
Project on “Data for Change II”. The overall objective of the project is to increase the ability of local
and national education stakeholders to drive action on the interface between sexual and genderbased violence and education for girls, and young women in Nigeria, and to connect to regional and global efforts.


PROJECT GOAL
Increase education stakeholders’ capacity as change agents to drive action on School-Related Gender-Based Violence Policy and empower them to contribute to inclusive, participatory, and open SRGBV policy dialogue in Nigeria


PROJECT OBJECTIVES
The specific objectives of “Data for Change II” project are to ensure:
Increased state and national advocacy efforts on girls’ empowerment, education, and SRGBV
Capacity strengthening of key stakeholders on the magnitude, impact, and prevention of SRGBV
Enhanced capacity strengthening of key stakeholders on the magnitude, impact, and prevention
of SRGBV


THE SOLICITATION REQUESTS THE FOLLOWING SERVICES AS FOLLOWS:
The solicitation requests the following services as follows:


Educate participants on the findings of the Nigeria-School Related Gender Based Violence Fact Sheet
In 2024, the Government of Nigeria launched the Violence Against Children and Youth Survey (VACS), with technical assistance from the CDC as part of the Together for Girls partnership. In 2016, the Government of Nigeria launched its official VACS report. The fact sheet provides an overview of the data found in Nigeria’s VACS report. This activity will highlight the findings of the VACS report

Develop a 3 Day training curriculum drawn from the FAWE SRGBV Manual
The FAWE SRGBV has been designed to facilitate change in attitudes, relationships, practices, systems, and structures enabling response to SRGBV in and around schools. The inclusive design of the manual ultimately contributes to influencing change systems, structures, laws, and norms


Train education stakeholders on School Related Gender Based Violence
Education stakeholders have a key role to play in the prevention of School-Related GenderBased-Violence (SRGBV). With the appropriate training, they can be empowered to develop
policies and practices that can create safe, equitable, and inclusive learning spaces in schools


OBJECTIVES OF THE CONSULTANCY
Educate the target group on SRGBV
Enlighten participants on the need to drive action for SRGBV policy at all levels
Build participants’ capacity to engage other relevant stakeholders and popularize the SRGBV in their sphere of influence
Guide participants to develop a practical road map and work plan for the next 12 months on driving the process of advocating for the prevention of SRGBV


SCOPE OF WORK/DELIVERABLES
Develop training content to be used to deliver the training
Develop the methodology of the training
Topics to cover during the training
Number of days for the training
Develop point presentations to be used during the training
Submit a comprehensive report of the training including an evaluation report

SELECTION CRITERIA
The Consultant to be contracted is expected to meet the following criteria:
Must be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria and have relevant documents to prove existence and compliance to extant regulations (for organizations), or have relevant status of permit to work in Nigeria (for individuals)
Must have and demonstrate good understanding and practical experience of development work including advanced skills in facilitation and training of the target beneficiaries
The Consultant must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in carrying out similar assignments (a portfolio of such work done in the past 3 years is required evidence)
Demonstrate understanding of SRGBV
Demonstrate knowledge of gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) in delivering on the assignment


QUOTE CRITERIA/PAYMENT SCHEDULE
Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), Nigeria will pay a consultancy fee based upon a mutually agreeable daily consultancy rate
The quotes submitted should include all associate expenses borne by the consultant to carry out this assignment, as no other expenses will be covered or reimbursed by FAWE Nigeria
Quotes must be submitted in Naira, as payment(s) to the contracted consultant will be made in this currency
