The establishment of the Institute culminated from the dare need to fill the vacuum created by a lack of government specialized institution in Information and Communication Technology. This was in spite of the fact that ICT has taken a centre stage in global systems and practices.

Qualifications / Experiences
The candidate seeking for the post should possess the following qualifications:
- A good Honors Degree in Accounting with 15 years cognate experience plus registration with a recognized Professional Accounting body or,
- A holder of Masters Degree in Accounting from a recognized University with at least 12 years post qualification experience and registration with a professional Accounting body ar
- A holder of Doctorate Degree in field of Accounting with at least 9 years post qualification cognate experience plus registration with a recognized Professional Accounting body.
- In addition, a candidate must be computer literate.
Terms of Appointment / Conditions of Service
- The appointment is for an initial term of four (4) years and renewable for another term of four years only and no more.
- The salary is consolidated as applied to Jigawa State Tertiary Institutions.
