JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY
We are looking for an experienced Back-end developer to join our IT team. You will be responsible for the server-side scripting of our web applications. If you have excellent programming skills and a passion for developing applications or improving existing ones, we would like to meet you. Our major stacks are PHP, Java, SQL, Python and NodeJS.
As a backend software developer at ECEWS, you will be responsible for designing and building our various backend systems. The projects you will work on typically consist of an array of interesting technical challenges such as:
- Deploying software in difficult environments
- Working with extremely sensitive data on vulnerable people
- Dealing with complex data structures and processes
Primarily you will be working on Virtual Call App, our global database & case management system for the people we work with.
EDUCATIONAL, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENT:
- University Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems.
- Proven work experience as a Back-end developer
- In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
- Hands-on experience with programming languages like PHP, SQL and NodeJS
- Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g. HTML, JavaScript, and CSS)
- Contribute to the technical architecture design of projects
- Design and implement scalable and maintainable backend systems and APIs Write clean, testable, and efficient code
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Develop highly performant APIs
- Develop systems for low-bandwidth and offline environments
- Develop robust and secure systems
- Building out standards and processes for the team and organization
