Howard University Global Initiative Nigeria (HUGIN) – Under the auspices of the Strengthening integrated Delivery of HIV/AIDS Services project whose objective is to reduce the burden of HIV/AIDS in targeted areas of Nigeria through strengthened delivery of high quality comprehensive HIV/AIDS services that are sustainable for long-term, Howard University provides technical leadership in strengthening pharmacy systems and pharmacists’ capacity to provide high quality HIV/AIDS, STI, and TB pharmacy services both at the health facility and the community.

Job Description

  • The Associate Director, Pharmacy Services, will be co-located in the project’s head office in Uyo and will be responsible for providing technical guidance on the project’s pharmacy related activities for strengthening the pharmacy systems in the project’s states in a sustainable and integrated manner.
  • S/he will be responsible for providing sound technical assistance to the pharmacy services providers at the facility and community levels in the state.
  • S/he will report to the Pharmacy Technical Directors.

Minimum Requirement Standards

  • B.Pharm / PharmD and M.Sc in Clinical Pharmacy with 10 – 12 years relevant experience with international pharmacy development programs with 7 – 10 years supervisory experience.
  • A good working experience of Differentiated Service Delivery (DSD) of HIV/AIDS services, pharmacovigilance monitoring as well as Decentralized Drug Delivery (DDD) models of ART medications refill services will be an added advantage.

Job Circumstances:

  • The job involves at least 30% local travel at short notice.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to extend working hours to meet deadlines and at short notice.
  • Ability to function effectively in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural
  • environment to produce excellent results under pressure.
  • Ability to use key computing applications e.g., MS Office Suite etc. and knowledge of different database (DHIS or LAMIS) is a plus.
