The Association of Women Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (ASWHAN) is a national civil society organization committed to advancing the rights, dignity, health, and socio-economic empowerment of women living with HIV across Nigeria.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Advocacy and Communication Manager
Location: Abuja
Type of Appointment: Fixed-term Contract
Contract Duration: One year renewable
Work Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Reports to: Project Manager
Status: National Position
Objective
- To lead advocacy, policy engagement, and communications strategies that influence decision-makers, amplify EU-SUSI outcomes, and ensure donor visibility.
Key Responsibilities
Advocacy & Policy Engagement
- Develop and implement evidence-based advocacy strategies aligned with EU-SUSI objectives.
- Engage policymakers, CSOs, networks, and government institutions at national and sub-national levels.
- Support policy dialogue, learning events, and stakeholder forums.
Communications & Visibility:
- Lead content development, storytelling, media engagement, and documentation of project results.
- Ensure compliance with EU and Oxfam branding and visibility requirements.
Technical Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related field. with a minimum 7 years’ experience in advocacy and communications roles.
- Strong skills in advocacy strategy development, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated experience working with media and managing public communications
- Proficiency in digital communications, content development, and reporting.
- Ability to translate complex project results into compelling messages.
