NCA has been operational in northeastern Nigeria, providing humanitarian relief with a strong presence in Monguno, Maiduguri, Pulka, and Dikwa.
We are now seeking the right candidate to join our team as Adolescent Sexual & Reproductive Health (ASRH) Assistant to help us further our mission and contribute to ongoing efforts in the region. (See details below).
TITLE: Adolescent Sexual & Reproductive Health (ASRH) Assistant
REPORTING TO: ASRH Senior officer
DUTY STATION: Pulka (with possible travels to other field locations).
TIME FRAME:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) Assistant will support ASRH activities focused on improving sexual and reproductive health outcomes for adolescents. The ASRH assistant will assist in the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of ASRH initiatives. The ASRH Assistant will provide support to ASRH outreach/ Volunteer workers and partners, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive and youth-friendly services. The position reports directly to the ASRH Senior Officer and is based in Pulka.
JOB ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
✓ ASRH Program Support: Assist in the implementation of ASRH activities through partners and directly. Provide support to ASRH outreach/ volunteer workers and ensure the appropriate use of ASRH tools and methodologies.
✓ Monitoring and Evaluation: Assist in monitoring and reporting ASRH activities and expected results. Participate in relevant assessments related to ASRH and protection.
✓ Reporting and Management: Communicate with the ASRH Senior Officer on program progress, constraints, training needs identified, and other matters pertaining to the ASRH activities. Develop and submit detailed weekly and monthly work plans to the ASRH Senior Officer.
✓ Coordination and Representation: Represent NCA in relevant coordination mechanisms in project locations. Ensure NCA’s representation and visibility in relevant field location coordination structures. Actively develop and maintain effective working relationships with ASRH actors in the field, including, health facilities, government actors, UN agencies, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders.
MAIN TASKS
✓ Provide support to NCA and partners’ ASRH outreach/volunteer workers, ensuring the appropriate use of ASRH tools and methodologies.
✓ Participate actively in ASRH sub-sector working groups.
✓ Assist in program review meetings/conferences related to ASRH.
✓ Ensure ASRH activities are implemented appropriately and timely.
✓ Ensure timely assistance and referrals are provided to adolescents in need, using up-to-date service mapping tools and referral pathways.
✓ Conduct regular meetings with NCA and partners’ ASRH team for debriefing and provide support as needed.
✓ Update the service mapping and ensure that the referral pathway at the field level is strengthened.
✓ Ensure supplies/resources for youth-friendly spaces, counselling spaces, and other program activities are requested timely and efficiently utilized.
✓ Support NCA’s and partners in conducting ASRH-related assessments.
✓ Contribute timely and quality monthly reports and submit progress reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
✓ Communicate actively with partners and beneficiaries, supporting field-level CRM.
✓ Support ASRH initiatives, including awareness campaigns, community outreach, and youth education programs to improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes for adolescents.
✓ Work closely with health facilities to insure the availability of SRH quality care and support.
OTHER DUTIES / FUNCTIONS ASSIGNED TO THE POSTION
✓ Comply with and promote NCA security requirements and program routines, regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures.
✓ Undertake any other task related to the ASRH programming as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential Criteria:

✓ Computer Literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Qualifications:
✓ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Reproductive Health, Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health or a related field.
✓ Certification/Membership in relevant professional bodies (desirable)
✓ Experience: Minimum of 2 years working on reproductive health programs, preferably in humanitarian/development settings
✓ Technical Skills: Solid understanding of reproductive health, maternal and newborn care, program coordination, and capacity building.
