- The Actuarial Science Team at Helpman Institute is dedicated to building skilled actuaries and financial experts committed to providing comprehensive insurance solutions and financial services focusing on health, life insurance, and pension benefits.
- This is in line with the organization’s overall aim of developing capacity for public policy effectiveness and strengthening the nexus between research, industry, policy & development support.
- We’re looking for one (1) to two (2) individuals with strong backgrounds in quantitative fields who can apply their knowledge and skills in formulating models that solve real-world risk-related problems. In this role, you will learn how to develop actuarial pricing/costing tools as well as model risk and optimize pricing and underwriting.
- This position is available as a fixed contract, subject to satisfactory progress after a probationary period of three months.
Selection Criteria
Essential criteria
- A bachelor’s degree in Actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Finance.
- Graduated with CGPA higher than 4.0 on a scale of 5.0 or its equivalent.
- Have completed NYSC evidenced by a discharge or exemption certificate.
- Have a strong oral and written communication skills.
Desirable criteria
- Commitment to continuous learning, as demonstrated by courses taken or certifications completed, or skills acquired after bachelor’s degree.
- Familiarity with Python, R, Excel VBA, or other programming skills.
- Graduated with a first-class grade or its equivalent at undergraduate level.
