Action Against Hunger (Action Contre la Faim – ACF) began operations in Nigeria in 2010 in response to the high rate of chronic malnutrition in Northern Nigeria, focusing on integrated programming and looking at the Nutrition for children, pregnant and lactating mothers. In 2011, we expanded our work to begin implementing nutrition development projects in Jigawa and Yobe. Following the crises in Northeast Nigeria, we further expanded our operations in Borno State in 2014 in response to the crisis to address the Nutrition, Health, Food security & livelihoods, WASH, and shelter needs of conflict-affected communities. We are operational in 11 Local Government Areas of Borno, 12 in Yobe, and 3 in Jigawa.

Job Description

  • Action Against Hunger is looking to fill the role of a WASH Program Manager who will implement quality, relevant and innovative WASH interventions in accordance with the strategy, AAH and international standards and national policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Implementation of projects in accordance with the AAH Charter, the AAH  strategic framework, the Policies ( WASH and other AAH  sectors), positioning papers, the national strategy  and other WASH standard and policies;
  • Participate, if necessary, in the development of the  WASH/NFI/Shelter part of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) in its area of intervention;
  • Promote cross-sectoral integration of the  WASH sector with other sectors in collaboration with the  Project Coordinator;
  • Ensure the Implementation of the WASH program(s) in accordance with the intervention’s logical framework, budget, and AAH’s logistical and administrative procedures.
  • Monitoring of its programs, through internal APR monitoring tools, its regular presence in the field, an updated chronogram, monthly budget monitoring analysis.
  • Implement complaint mechanisms aimed at transparency and ethics of projects, particularly with the assisted populations with MEAL team;
  • Represent AAH and ensure relations with partners, authorities, UN agencies and NGOs in its sector in collaboration with the Field Coordinator.

Minimum Basic Salary and Other Benefits

  • NGN 466,741 per month
