Job Description
- Plan, implement, and monitor WASH projects in line with SHO’s objectives and donor requirements.
- Assess WASH needs in target areas and develop appropriate response strategies.
- Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation.
- Oversee the construction and maintenance of water supply systems, latrines, and hygiene facilities.
- Conduct hygiene promotion sessions to raise awareness on best practices and behavior change.
- Monitor and evaluate WASH program outcomes and impact, ensuring accountability and quality.
- Prepare timely and accurate progress reports, including data collection and analysis.
- Train and mentor WASH staff and community volunteers to enhance their capacities.
- Collaborate with other sectors to integrate WASH components into broader humanitarian programs.
- Ensure compliance with WASH sector standards, protocols, and guidelines.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, or related fields. A Master’s degree is desirable.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in implementing hygiene promotion programs in humanitarian or development settings.
- Strong knowledge of hygiene promotion methodologies, behavior change theories, and best practices.
- Proven experience in conducting hygiene assessments and designing effective hygiene interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring timely and quality program delivery.
- Proficiency in using computer applications, including Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

Preferred Experience:
• Proven professional experience working with NGO at a relevant position e.g enumerator, monitor, field and community worker.
• Experience working for NGOs and/ or in Camp setting is a must.
• Experience Working in Northeast Nigeria is a Must
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Written and spoken fluency in English, Hausa, Kanuri or additional fluency in other local languages an added advantage.
• Ability and Willingness to follow instructions.
