The Role
- We are looking for a creative Volunteer Scriptwriter based in Nigeria to join our social media team and help communicate IIR’s work through clear, engaging and impactful digital content.
- As our Volunteer Scriptwriter, you will be responsible for developing scripts for IIR’s social media videos, campaigns and other digital content.
- You will work closely with our Social Media Content Strategist, Proofreader and Video & Publishing Officer, under the direction of the Social Media Team Leader, to take content from initial idea through to publication.
Key Responsibilities
- Write engaging scripts for short-form videos, Reels and other social media content.
- Turn project updates, legal information and campaign ideas into clear and accessible scripts.
- Adapt writing style and tone for different platforms and audiences.
- Develop strong hooks, calls to action and messaging for digital campaigns.
- Work from content briefs and campaign plans developed by the social media team.
- Incorporate feedback from the Proofreader and Social Media Team Leader.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the social media team to ensure content is consistent with IIR’s objectives and organisational voice.
You should have
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor`s Degree with 1 year experience.
- Strong written English and creative writing skills.
- An ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
- An understanding of writing for social media and digital audiences.
- Creativity and an ability to develop engaging concepts.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and meet agreed deadlines.
- An interest in social justice, access to justice or nonprofit work.
