We partner with communities to address critical needs in education, food security, livelihood, protection, climate action, good governance, and health/nutrition, with a focus on empowering youth, women, and children.

Job Summary

ARISE seeks a talented, creative Videographer/Photographer to document events centered on youth and women empowerment, with a focus on gender-based advocacy. This short-term volunteer role suits professionals with visual storytelling skills and technical expertise, requiring 2 sessions per week (3–4 hours each) for content creation and event coverage.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits or virtual assessments to evaluate lighting, angles, and layout.
  • Set up and test audiovisual equipment (cameras, lighting, microphones, power backups, memory devices).
  • Capture high-quality photos and videos of key moments (speeches, ceremonies, stakeholder interactions).
  • Record short interviews with speakers, organizers, or attendees.
  • Deliver a professionally edited 2–4-minute highlight video and polished photo set within 2 working days post-event.
  • Ensure ethical representation, reflecting respect, dignity, and sensitivity, especially on gender-based violence.
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ownership of a professional-grade camera and equipment is mandatory.
  • Minimum BA/B.Sc./HND in English, Linguistics, Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related Social Science field.
  • Additional certifications in communication or multimedia production are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Partner with communications and program teams to align videos with campaign themes.
  • Contribute creative ideas during brainstorming sessions.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Proven ability to shoot and edit high-quality photos and videos.
  • Experience with live video/audio streaming on various platforms.
  • Skill in transforming raw footage into engaging short stories for social media.
  • Proficiency in video and image editing tools:
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
    • CorelDraw, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of digital platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Mailchimp, Google Forms.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with skills in conducting interviews and writing captions.
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and efficient delivery of high-quality work.
