Overview: iCARE Plus Clinical Research Center (CRC) is funded by the United States National institutes of Health (NIH) to conduct interventional trials over 5 years with outcomes across the HIV care continuumin youth aged 15-24, including young men who have sex with men (MSM), through new Clinical Research Performance Sites (CRPSs) in HIV “hotspots” across Nigeria’s six geopolitically distinct zones. The CRPSs include Akwa Ibom, Benue, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, and Taraba. 

The Enugu CRPS seeks to recruit two (2) Study Coordinators at the two clinical sites in Enugu State (1 at University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Ituku/Ozalla, 1 at General Hospital Enugu Ezike). The Study Coordinators will be responsible for the coordination of the Treatment intervention arm activities of the iCARE Plus study involving youth receiving HIV treatment at Enugu State (1 at University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, 1 at General Hospital Enugu Ezike). The services of a full time Study Coordinator on a contract basis for one year in the first instance but renewable thereafter based on satisfactory performance is required. 

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Investigators (Co-Is) of the project.
  • Work closely with the Treatment Arm Lead and Program Manager on this project.  
  • Conduct all study enrolments and follow-up related activities including study visits.
  • Meet regularly with the Treatment Arm Peer Navigators for progress reports.
  • Provide continuous update on the progress of the intervention.
  • Report any anomaly or protocol deviation promptly to the PI through the Program Manager and the Co-Is. 
  • Support the planning and co-facilitate step-down trainings.
  • Maintain good relationship with the study participants and ensure constant follow-up.
  • Uphold the highest level of confidentiality regarding all data collection procedures
  • Carry out any tasks that may be assigned by the PI and Co-Is of the project.

       English, communication in the local language (Igbo) will be an advantage

  • Very good proficiency in relevant computer applications particularly Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook.
  • Experience with electronic data collection tools.
  • Ability to demonstrate creative thinking about major challenges facing youth.
  • Experience in clinical/research work with youth.
  • Experience/involvement   in   grant   projects   –   project   design, implementation   and       Monitoring   and Evaluation.

Qualifications

•     Master’s degree in a health-related field is required.
