WHAT DO WE DO …
INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITIES ( SI )is an association of’ international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been helping people who are victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to the vital needs, drinking, eating, sheltering. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in that, essential, food security and means of’. Present in more than 20 countries, the SI teams, 3000 people in total, composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, some volunteers…intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.
THE MISSION
This request for expression of interest is open to all eligible consultants, in accordance with the procedures for recruiting INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITES.
PURPOSE / FINALITY :
The main objective of the mission is to’refine the strategy of the third axis of IS’ intervention in the area « Reduce the level of structural food insecurity via an integrated EHA/intervention/SAME of agricultural revival and support to pastoralism », develop a logic of’intervention, and write a first draft of conceptual note for’AFD and BHA / USAID contributing to the food security of populations vulnerable to shocks by strengthening their means of’s, in particular agro-pastoral.It will therefore be necessary to (i)carry out a field diagnosis, (ii) identify a’intervention logic that fits within the mandate and capabilities of’intervention of SI and (iii) write a concept note that will be presented to’AFD, and other’ donors.
All these documents must comply with the AFD format.
OFFER DESCRIPTION
LIST OF MAIN ACTIVITIES :
- Carrying out a Food Safety and livelihood diagnosis in the Atacora department ( Benin ) and within the savannah region ( Togo )
- Proposal for an intervention logic
- Writing a conceptual note
METHODOLOGY :
The methodology to be defined to fulfill the mission as described above is on the initiative of the consultant and should at least include :
- Briefing phase
- In terms of coordination in Lomé
- At the headquarters of Solidarités International
- Secondary data review
- Primary data collection
- Data analysis, writing of deliverables
- Debriefing organized with the International Solidarity teams involved in the project
DELIVERABLES :
- Full diagnostic report
- A conceptual note in French in AFD format
