Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with CAC in accordance to the Nigerian law, FRAD has over the years been actively involved with frontline responses to emergencies caused by the recent crisis in Northeast Nigeria, we also respond to emerging development needs in Nigeria through holistic approach that proffer durable solutions using the triple nexus approach. FRAD response focus on addressing the needs of women, girls, adolescents, youths and Persons living with disabilities via our various response in Health/Nutrition, Protection, WASH/Environment and Peace building, our responses provide support and enhance the protective factors of the most vulnerable populations affected by varying crisis which include humanitarian, development and economic crisis. Over the years, FRAD has demonstrated capacity in implementing a cross-sectoral response that meets the needs of the most vulnerable people and we are broadening our scope through the implementation of our 2024-2027 strategic plan.

Job Summary
The Safety and Security Assistant will work closely with the Safety and Security Officer to provide support for the implementation of FRAD programs within Zamfara state and across all over the Mission. He/ She will facilitate the implementation of FRAD safety and security management and contribute to building the organizational compliance with safety and security Essential Standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the SSO on the regular collection and collation of all SS information across the mission and compute same in the system.
• Assist the SSO in trip planning activities from trip requests, movement tracking/records, follow-up on travel SOPs compliance, movement tracking/timing and file a trip completion records and report trip stoppages and hitches for immediate follow-up.
• Assist the SS team in the preparation of Safety and security related reports.
• Collect/collate and report up-line, safety and security related incidents internally and externally.
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of S&S trainings and programmes in the location.
• Monitor Fleet activities and report on all breaches.
• Carry out any other duty/responsibilities assigned by the SSO and FRAD Management aimed at effective S&S management within the state and
Policies and procedures:
- Ensure that all staff understand the FRAD staff’s security plan and agree to abide by its policies and procedures.
- Monitor the security environment and adjust security policies and procedures accordingly in consultation with the Security Officer
- Undertake reviews of policies and procedures; identify opportunities to enhance security.
Programme Implementation:
- Advised on safe movement for staff e.g. proper vehicle fleet management policies, adequate safety and communication equipment in vehicles and training drivers in established procedures and requisite skills
- Assist with proposal development to ensure adequate consideration of safety and security need and inclusion of security costs.
- Undertake security assessments of any field missions to programme areas and potential programme areas; report on findings and design necessary improvements.
Experience and technical competencies
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree qualification At least one year work experience performing Safety and security functions.
- Strong learning attitude and capacity for learning and development of technical and professional skills.
- Strong Competency in Internet and Microsoft Office systems and other database/mapping systems
- Information Gathering and analysis using good knowledge of management practice and technologies used in the sector.
- Basic understanding of NGOs programming.
- Basic knowledge of Fraud and criminal investigation procedures and methods.
- Strong proficiency in the use of Office programs like word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Nose-for-news’ and ability to spot flaws in systems.
Desirable:
- Background training and service in any security service.
- Values and Critical Competencies Personality Attributes / Traits:
- Highly developed cultural awareness.
- Fluency in English, Hausa and any other Zamfara state local languages.
- An indigene of Zamafara is an advantage
- Critical thinking and excellent logical skills.
- Have good communication and presentations skills.
