1. Introduction
CAFOD Nigeria is seeking proposals from reputable Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) for the provision of comprehensive health insurance services to its staff. The selected HMO will be expected to deliver high-quality medical coverage that supports the health and wellbeing of staff across Nigeria, including Abuja and Maiduguri offices.
2. Scope of Services
The HMO is expected to provide a comprehensive health insurance plan that includes, but is not limited to, the following services:
1. Hospital and Clinical Care:
- Access to a wide network of accredited hospitals, clinics, and specialist care facilities nationwide.
- In-patient and out-patient services.
- Emergency medical care.
2. Wellness and Preventive Services:
- Provision of bi-annual, and annual medical check-ups for staff.
- Preventive health education and awareness sessions.
3. Optical Care:
- Optical care services.
4. Additional Benefits:
- Sessions of gym services per staff weekly.
- Sessions of spa/wellness services per staff weekly.
5. Geographical Coverage:
- Staff in Maiduguri must be able to access specialist care facilities in Abuja where such care is not available locally.
3. Deliverables
The selected HMO will:
- Provide comprehensive health insurance coverage to CAFOD Nigeria staff across designated locations.
- Ensure timely and seamless access to medical facilities nationwide.
- Provide clear processes for referrals, approvals, and claims.
- Offer a responsive customer support system to address staff health concerns.
4. Proposal Requirements
Interested HMOs are requested to submit proposals that include the following:
- Company profile, CAC registration, and relevant certifications.
- Detailed description of the proposed health plan, including coverage, exclusions, and additional benefits.
- List of accredited hospitals, clinics, and specialist centers nationwide (with emphasis on Abuja and Maiduguri).
- Details of proposed gym and spa partnerships/sessions.
- Premium rates and cost breakdown per staff with family coverage.
- Optical care package.
- Service-level agreements (SLAs) including timelines for referrals, approvals, and reimbursements.
- Client references from similar organizations.
5. Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following:
- Comprehensiveness of health plan coverage.
- Accessibility of accredited facilities.
- Value-added services (gym, spa, preventive care, etc.).
- Competitive pricing and cost-effectiveness.
- Experience and reputation in managing corporate HMO schemes.
- Quality of customer support services.
