Title: Health Insurance Cover for all Tearfund Nigeria Staff

Summary
Tearfund Nigeria requires comprehensive Health Insurance coverage for all staff and dependents for the period 21st October 2025 – 20th October 2026.

The HMO will provide premium health insurance packages covering individuals, families, and single-parent staff across Nigeria and selected international locations. Coverage must ensure access to quality healthcare, protection against medical costs, and compliance with the outlined scope of services.

Location and region: All States in Nigeria, including some foreign countries

A. Scope of Services

Minimum Employee Benefit Required for Premium Health Insurance

  1. EMERGENCY CARE:
    i. Initial stabilisation and care
    ii. Intensive care if required
  2. EVACUATION: ACCIDENTS & EMERGENCIES
    i. from site of injury to hospital
    ii. from hospital to hospital, this is one by road ambulance
  3. INTENSIVE CARE:
    i. Intensive care unit (ICU)
  4. OUTPATIENT COMPONENT:
    i. Outpatient Care & General Consultations
    ii. Specialist consultations (Nephrologist, Urologist, Endocrinologist, etc)
    iii. Provision of prescribed drugs and medications
    iv. X-Rays, Laboratory and Diagnostic investigations
    v. Chronic condition management
    vi. Primary Eye Care – Consultation, Examination, Simple or Primary infection or conditions and Medications
    vii. ENT Services
    viii. Advanced & Complex Investigations (incl. CT Scan, MRI Scan)
  5. INPATIENT COMPONENT:
    i. Accommodation and feeding for duration of admission (Private ward)
    ii. Accommodation for parents whose infants are on admission
    iii. Provision of medical care, nursing care, and prescribed medication and consumables during the duration of admission
    iv. X-Rays, Laboratory & Diagnostic Tests
    v. Physiotherapy Sessions (Up to approved limits)
    vi. Intensive Care Services
    vii. Advanced & Complex Investigations (CT Scan or MRI Scan)
  6. OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY ANTENATAL CARE AND DELIVERY
    i. Antenatal Care, Delivery & Postnatal care (12 months moratorium applies)
    ii. Induction of labor
    iii. Normal delivery
    iv. Assisted delivery
    v. Epi Dural Anesthesia
    vi. Antenatal procedures including Shirodkar’s operation
    vii. Caesarean section
    viii. Management of pregnancy complications
    ix. Post-natal care including RHOGAM injection
    x. Family planning services
    xi. Fertility Services (Investigation Only)
  7. FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES – Pills, Injectables, Copper IUCD, Tubal ligation, Norplant, Mirena and Vasectomy (including Norplant or Implanon).
  8. FERTILITY SERVICES – Counselling, Ultrasound scan, Seminal fluid analysis, HSG, Hormonal Assay, Follicle stimulating Hormone (FSH), Hysteroscopy TSH, T3 & T4.
  9. MINOR, INTERMEDIATE, MAJOR SURGERIES and PROCEDURES
    • Minor: wound dressing, suturing, incision, drainage, ENT procedures, anesthesia, blood transfusion.
    • Intermediate/Major: debridement, lump excision, hernia, appendectomy, fractures, hemorrhoids, endoscopy, ectopic pregnancy surgery, myomectomy, orthopedic, hysterectomy, thyroidectomy, open reduction, transplant surgeries, etc.
  10. PHYSIOTHERAPY
    i. Physiotherapy services
    ii. Prescribed physiotherapeutic appliances (collar, crutches, etc.)
    iii. Infra-Red Therapy
  11. RENAL DIALYSIS – 10 sessions
  12. DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
  • Radiology: X-rays, contrast studies, ultrasound
  • Laboratory: histopathology, hematology, microbiology, serology, chemistry
  • Advanced: ECG, EEG, Echocardiography, MRI, CT, Doppler, etc.
  1. NEONATAL/PAEDIATRIC CARE
  • Special baby care, treatment of childhood diseases, immunisations (routine and additional), circumcision, blood transfusion.
  1. ADULT IMMUNIZATION – Yellow Fever, Meningitis, Typhoid, Prostate cancer vaccine, Hepatitis B.
  2. DENTAL CARE – Basic (examination, fillings, scaling, extractions) and Secondary (surgical extractions, root canal, orthodontics).
  3. EYE CARE/OPHTHALMOLOGICAL SERVICES – Consultation, exams, infections, tonometry, annual lenses/frames.
  4. OTOLARYNGOLOGICAL (ENT) SERVICES – Treatment and surgeries.
  5. MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES – Counselling, outpatient consultation, psychiatry.
  6. HIV/AIDS CARE AND TREATMENT – Counselling, assessment, monitoring, drugs.
  7. SELECTIVE HEALTH SCREENING (Yearly for enrollee & spouse) – Full physicals, labs, cancer screening, ECG, mammogram, cervical smears, prostate tests.
  8. CANCER CARE – Surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, investigations.

  • Strong customer care & claims system.
  • Cover full listed services.

D. What to Submit as Part of Quotation

  • Company profile & registration documents.
  • NHIA accreditation.
  • Proposal with: service description, premium breakdown, hospital list, value-added services.
  • Evidence of 3 years’ similar contracts.
  • Risk assessment & mitigation.
  • 3 references.
  • Confirmation of service delivery start (21 Oct 2025).
  • Budget including all taxes/WHT.
