Overview

Project Title: JISRA Nigeria Video Documentary
Summary: The Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA) is a five-year peacebuilding program (2021–2025), partnering with 50 civil society organizations across Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Mali, Nigeria, and Uganda. Funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, JISRA promotes Freedom of Religion and Belief (FoRB) and interfaith dialogue to foster peaceful, inclusive societies. Tearfund Nigeria & Partners implement the program across 15 communities in Plateau and Kaduna States.

Objectives

  • Document JISRA’s Impact: Showcase achievements, outcomes, and transformational stories from Ethiopia, Iraq, Mali, and Nigeria.
  • Create Communication Materials: Develop engaging resources highlighting successes and learnings for stakeholders.
  • Support Advocacy and Funding: Use the documentary as a tool for peacebuilding advocacy and future funding efforts.

Scope of Work

This consultancy involves editing, translating, and captioning pre-recorded footage from the JISRA Nigeria project. The consultant/vendor will:

  • Review and organize approximately 30 interviews/stories (5–10 minutes each) from various angles.
  • Translate Hausa segments to English and add English subtitles.
  • Create a cohesive narrative including:
    • Transformation and reconciliation stories.
    • Participant interviews and testimonials.
    • Program achievements and FoRB/peacebuilding messages.
    • Data-driven insights (charts, infographics provided by Tearfund).
  • Edit using professional software, aligning with JISRA and Tearfund branding.
  • Deliver a first draft for review and a final high-resolution version.

Deliverables

  • 2 Edited Documentaries (15–20 minutes each) for JISRA Nigeria Consortium and Tearfund Nigeria.
  • 2–3 Teaser Clips (1–3 minutes each).
  • English captions for all Hausa segments.
  • Infographic overlays based on provided data.
  • First Draft: By August 10, 2025.
  • Final Version: By August 13, 2025, with all raw files on a hard drive.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in documentary video editing (samples required).
  • Fluency in Hausa and English for accurate translation and captioning.
  • Experience with peacebuilding/development organizations is an advantage.
  • Advanced skills in video editing/captioning software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro).
  • Ability to integrate infographics and branded assets.

Timeline

  • First Draft: August 10, 2025
  • Final Draft: August 13, 2025

Reporting

Report to the JISRA Data and Communications Officer. Meetings may be scheduled to review preliminary findings.

Submission of Proposals

Include:

  • Company profile with similar documentary experience.
  • CVs of key personnel assigned to the project.
  • Proposed work plan and methodology.
  • Detailed financial proposal with fees and estimated costs.

Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be assessed on:

  • Technical quality and creative concept.
  • Relevant experience.
