Background
Center for Child Care and Human Development (C3HD) is a Child Centered and Women Focused (CCWF) non-governmental, non-tribal, non-religious and non-profitable organization established and registered with state in 2017 and later registered as a non-profit organization with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
C3HD was established to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable communities and especially women and children, people with disabilities and those affected by conflict and insurgency through maximizing contributions to Health care and wellbeing, Education, WASH, Gender, social and disability inclusions, Protection, Peace Building, and Economic recovery and Livelihood.
C3HD is striving for an all-inclusive community and human development for all, including populations who are marginalized, underserved or affected by conflict or insurgency, catering to their health and wellbeing. We have a mission of transforming the lives women and children on the edges of society and help them regain and pursue their dreams for sustainable development.
C3HD acts as an agent for change. For 5 years and in 4 states (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa and Kano States), we help women and children to overcome the massive problem they face through reducing inequality in accessing health services and education, responding to violence and exclusion, promoting food security, empowerment, peace and resilience building of communities to be able to withstand and respond to future hardships. We employ “the protective communities’ approach” to our programming’s by mainstreaming safeguarding and protection in our activities.
Job Requirements:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of beneficiaries, program participants, staffs and other individuals within our organization, particularly vulnerable and at-risk populations such as children, girls, elderly, and individuals with disabilities.
- The holder will play a critical role in developing and implementing safeguarding, Gender and protection policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and providing training and support to staff members
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safeguarding, PSEA, gender and protection policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential safeguarding issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide GBV and CP case management services including MHPSS to survivors of violence including PWDs
- Provide advice and guidance to staff members on safeguarding matters and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Investigate safeguarding concerns or incidents, and take appropriate action in accordance with established protocols.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies to address safeguarding issues and support individuals in need of protection.
- Deliver training sessions on safeguarding awareness and procedures to staff members and volunteers
- Maintain accurate records of safeguarding concerns, incidents, and actions taken.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree/HND in social work, psychology, sociology, Public health or a related field. An advance degree or MSc is desirable.
- Proven experience of 2 years working in Safeguarding, PSEA, GBV, CP or Protection roles, preferably in a humanitarian setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and protection legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Proven experience and track record in GBV or CP case management including MHPSS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
