Job Description
- Lead the development and implementation of protection strategies, ensuring the integration of protection principles into all SHO programs.
- Conduct protection assessments to identify the needs and vulnerabilities of targeted communities.
- Design and deliver protection activities, including community-based protection mechanisms and referral systems.
- Provide psychosocial support to survivors of violence, exploitation, and abuse.
- Monitor and report protection concerns and violations, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
- Facilitate training and capacity-building sessions for staff, partners, and community members on protection-related topics.
- Collaborate with local authorities and stakeholders to strengthen protection mechanisms and coordination.
- Ensure that gender, age, and diversity considerations are mainstreamed into all protection activities.
- Prepare and submit regular protection reports, including data collection and analysis.
- Uphold confidentiality and respect the dignity of beneficiaries while delivering protection services.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, or related fields. A Master’s degree is desirable.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in implementing hygiene promotion programs in humanitarian or development settings.
- Strong knowledge of hygiene promotion methodologies, behavior change theories, and best practices.
- Proven experience in conducting hygiene assessments and designing effective hygiene interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring timely and quality program delivery.
- Proficiency in using computer applications, including Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

Preferred Experience:
• Proven professional experience working with NGO at a relevant position e.g enumerator, monitor, field and community worker.
• Experience working for NGOs and/ or in Camp setting is a must.
• Experience Working in Northeast Nigeria is a Must
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Written and spoken fluency in English, Hausa, Kanuri or additional fluency in other local languages an added advantage.
• Ability and Willingness to follow instructions.
