Background
Center for Child Care and Human Development (C3HD) is a Child Centered and Women Focused (CCWF) non-governmental, non-tribal, non-religious and non-profitable organization established and registered with state in 2017 and later registered as a non-profit organization with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
C3HD was established to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable communities and especially women and children, people with disabilities and those affected by conflict and insurgency through maximizing contributions to Health care and wellbeing, Education, WASH, Gender, social and disability inclusions, Protection, Peace Building, and Economic recovery and Livelihood.
C3HD is striving for an all-inclusive community and human development for all, including populations who are marginalized, underserved or affected by conflict or insurgency, catering to their health and wellbeing. We have a mission of transforming the lives women and children on the edges of society and help them regain and pursue their dreams for sustainable development.
C3HD acts as an agent for change. For 5 years and in 4 states (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa and Kano States), we help women and children to overcome the massive problem they face through reducing inequality in accessing health services and education, responding to violence and exclusion, promoting food security, empowerment, peace and resilience building of communities to be able to withstand and respond to future hardships. We employ “the protective communities’ approach” to our programming’s by mainstreaming safeguarding and protection in our activities.
Job Requirements:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate disability inclusion projects and programs.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), government agencies, and community groups.
- Provide expertise on disability inclusion best practices and policies.
- Conduct outreach and awareness campaigns to promote disability rights, inclusion and accessibility.
- Coordinate training sessions and workshops to build capacity of staff, partners, communities and stakeholders in disability inclusion.
- Monitor and manage any protection concern and cases related to People with disabilities (PWDs)
- Monitor project budgets and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Support coordination meetings, Prepare reports and presentations on project progress and outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies for integrating disability inclusion into organizational policies, programs, and practices.
- Design and implement initiatives to promote accessibility and inclusion for women and children with disabilities across various sectors, such as education, livelihood, healthcare, ICT and protection.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities by engaging with policymakers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to promote systemic changes and remove barriers to inclusion.
- Conduct training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns to build the capacity of staff, volunteers, and community members in disability awareness, accessibility, and inclusive practices.
- Develop and implement systems to monitor project progress, track outcomes, and assess the impact of disability inclusion efforts, using data to inform decision-making and improve effectiveness.
- Manage project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure compliance with funding requirements and reporting obligations.
- Prepare regular reports, case studies, and other documentation to communicate project achievements, challenges, and lessons learned to internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct accessibility assessments and audits including safety audits of physical environments, digital platforms, and communication materials to identify barriers and recommend solutions for improvement
- Stay informed about emerging trends, research, and best practices in disability inclusion, and disseminate knowledge within the organization and to external partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree/ HND in a relevant field (e.g., social work, science, disability studies, public health).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Programs Officer, preferably in Protection, disability inclusion or related fields.
- Strong understanding of disability rights, accessibility, and inclusion principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including data analysis and interpretation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in computer packages and relevant software and technology for data management and analysis.
- Fluency in English and Hausa.
