Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN) – a nonprofit alliance of companies and non- governmental organizations – is a business-led platform that mobilizes private sector’s resources and capabilities and leverages same to support the improvement of Nigeria’s healthcare system. Consequently, PSHAN desires to see a Nigeria where everyone has equitable access to quality and affordable healthcare and wellness. Recognizing that the government cannot do it alone, PSHAN adopts a coordinated, nationwide multi-stakeholder approach to create transformative health outcomes.
Launched in 2010 as Private Sector Round Table for Health in Nigeria (PSRHN) with a signed partnership agreement, initially focusing on Polio and Malaria, the Alliance was formally endorsed as PSHAN, a high-level platform for the mobilization of business andcorporate leaders towards improving health outcomes in 2012. It is currently leading the operationalization of the private- sector driven initiative – Adopt-A-Health-Facility Program (“ADHFP”) – which entails delivering, at least, one Primary Healthcare Centre (“PHC”) in each of Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) at global standards,to provide universal health access for low-income citizens residing in rural and urban areas. PSHAN remains committed to working with businesses on infectious diseases, supporting them in the post-COVID era, helping to strengthen health systems and protect vulnerable populations
We are looking for a reliable quantity surveyor to join our capable team of professionals. The quantity surveyor will lead the design, review, planning and execution of PHC construction and refurbishment projects.
The role combines technical oversight with strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and fundraising support.
- Manage end-to-end healthcare construction and renovation projects
- Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
- Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
- Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
- Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
- Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
- Support procurement and oversee facility handover.
- Maintain financial records, monitor cash flows, and report to donors.
- Support recruitment of institutional and individual adopters.
- Prepare project briefs and represent PSHAN in donor meetings.
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Traveling from the office to various sites as required.
- Regular Facility management
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Engineering, Construction Management, or similar.
- 5 Years plus of Relevant Experience
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and reporting.
- Construction estimating or finance experienced is advantageous.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound knowledge of construction.
- Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
