Smile for All Children Initiative is a vision birthed from deep concerns for challenged children in our society, some of whom are separated from their primary caregivers, others living with most vulnerable parents and others who are largely neglected and abandoned. These categories of children characterizes over 60% of children around the Northeast Nigeria, largely because of the prolong insurgency.
Smile believes that children tend to do better when they are in the care of a protective and caring family. They are able to maximize their potentials and are better groomed into a more responsible citizen when raise in a protective and capable families. This largely translate into creating a responsible and capable future generation.
Smiles therefore ensures to work with relevant stakeholders to ensure families maintain bonds and those separated by insurgency are traced and reunified, vulnerable families are empowered to better care and provide for their children, and liaise with relevant agencies to curb negligence and abandonment on the part of parents.

Role Purpose:
The Programme Support Volunteer PSV is responsible for the implementation of Smile’s Programme activities in Borno State, Nigeria and reports to the Line Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance in the workplace is an essential function of this position and must comply with policies, procedures and ethical conduct at all times.
- Provides day-to-day operational leadership and support to staff that mirrors the mission including planning, formulating and achieving short- and long-term goals
- Sources for grant and partnership opportunities, develops and manages partnerships and grants.
- Manages programme development, resourcing, implementation and reporting including Programme Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.
- Responsible for overseeing budgets, financial reporting, and fiscal accountability, including monitoring and improvement of financial goals
- Develops, manages, executes, and improves strategic plan for the organisation and has ongoing strategic conversations and collaboration to the Line Supervisor with regular data and reporting.

- Excellent communication (speaking, writing and presentation) skills including demonstrated professional and effective working relationships
- Outstanding leadership ability, strong problem-solving skills, interpersonal and coordination skills, emotional intelligence, confidence, and executive presence for sound decisions, logical interpretations
- Operates with proficiency in a variety of office equipment including an office computer, a variety of word processing, spreadsheets, analytical and data management, project management software and applications as well as some graphic and presentation programmes.
- Strong skill set in prioritising, strategizing, meeting deadlines and following up on assignments and roles and responsibilities with minimum supervision.
- Successful candidate will be creative, visionary, proactive, highly dynamic, and versatile, organised, a team builder, at home with computing, and interested in working on new challenges. The role is suited for those who are interested in the Leadership and Management career path, those who are interested in the development field, passionate about Smile for All Children Initiative, sustainability and non-profits.
Education and Experience:
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree or HND in business administration and Management, finance, economics, or a closely related field which will provide knowledge of the principles, practices and administration of business and non-profits.
- Minimum of One (1) years of operations and leadership experience of full-time progressively complex and responsible related work experience directly involved with Field operations, Programmes development, finance or related areas. An NGO workrelated environment is preferred.
- Fluency in speaking and understanding English, Kanuri and Hausa.
