Role Summary
The Program officer will oversee the organization’s strategic direction, fundraising efforts, program implementation, and partnerships. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about social impact, leadership, and community development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction in line with the NGO’s mission and long-term goals
- Lead strategic planning and oversee implementation of organizational priorities.
- Strengthen governance structures and support the Board of Directors.
- Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of programs.
- Work closely with volunteers to ensure quality and impact.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities (grants, partnerships, individual, donors)
- Oversee the development of proposals, concept notes, and donor reports.
- Build partnerships with NGOs, government agencies, youth groups, and international organizations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Management, or related field (Master’s advantage).
- Prior experience in leadership, program management, NGO coordination, or social impact work.
- Strong writing, communication, and people-management skills.
- Experience in fundraising, proposal writing, or partnership building is a strong advantage.
- Passion for youth development, gender equality, and community empowerment.
