Role Overview
The Project Officer will assist in the implementation, management, and monitoring of CS-SUNN’s programs. This role is crucial for ensuring that our projects are executed effectively and contribute to our mission of improving nutrition in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in nutrition, public health, or a related field, along with experience in project coordination and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation:
- Support the planning and execution of program activities in alignment with project objectives.
- Coordinate logistical arrangements for project events, training sessions, and field activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems to track project progress and impact.
- Support organizational development of identified CSOs
- Build capacity of CSOs on OD, Advocacy strategies, budget analysis and tracking, grant seeking and management, etc.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect, compile, and analyze project data to prepare reports and presentations.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and gather feedback from beneficiaries.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through regular audits and validation checks.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with local partners, community leaders, and other stakeholders to support program activities.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and community events to engage stakeholders and promote project initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare timely and accurate reports on project progress, challenges, and results.
- Assist in the development and management of project budgets, ensuring expenditures align with approved budgets.
- Document and maintain records of program activities, decisions, and outcomes.
Capacity Building:
- Support the training and capacity-building efforts for project staff and partners.
- Promote best practices and knowledge sharing within the program team.
Advocacy and Communication:
- Contribute to advocacy efforts related to program goals and objectives.
- Develop communication materials, including reports, briefs, and updates, to share with stakeholders and donors.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure that program activities comply with donor requirements and organizational policies.
- Identify and assess risks associated with program activities and develop strategies to address them.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field.
- Master’s degree in nutrition, Public Health, Project Management, or a related field is a plus.
Professional Certifications:
- Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in project management or coordination, preferably in the nutrition or public health sector.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups.
- Experience with donor-funded projects and compliance requirements.
