Background
The International Society of Media in Public Health (ISMPH) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization established to mainstream the media as a potent tool to accelerate healthcare information and delivery in Nigeria.
ISMPH is currently seeking a qualified and passionate State Program Officer (SPO) to join our team in Kaduna. The SPO will play a key role in advancing public health advocacy efforts, with a strong focus on Primary Health Care (PHC) and Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Nutrition (RMNCH+N) services.
Job Purpose
The Programs/MEAL Manager will provide strategic leadership and oversight for program design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL). The role ensures that ISMPH’s media and public health interventions are effectively planned, delivered, tracked, and reported, while promoting evidence-based decision-making, learning, and accountability.
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences or Development Studies or relevant field. A master’s degree in the relevant field will be an advantage. A Monitoring & Evaluation Certification from reputable institution is required .Project Management qualification is necessary.
Experience in program design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning is a necessity
Key Responsibilities
Program Management
- Lead the design, planning, and implementation of ISMPH programs/projects in line with organizational strategy.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, partners, and donors to ensure effective delivery of project objectives.
- Supervise program teams and provide technical guidance to ensure quality and timely execution.
- Oversee program budgets, workplans, and reporting.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)
- Develop and implement MEAL frameworks, tools, and systems across projects.
- Ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting for donor, government, and internal requirements.
- Facilitate regular project reviews, learning sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Lead accountability mechanisms, ensuring community/stakeholder feedback informs program improvements.
- Produce high-quality reports, success stories, and knowledge products.
Partnerships & Advocacy
- Engage government agencies, media stakeholders, and partners for program visibility and sustainability.
- Provide technical inputs to policy and advocacy initiatives in line with ISMPH’s mandate.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Supervise and mentor program and MEAL staff.
- Build staff and partners’ capacity in project management, M&E, and reporting.
