Program and Administrative Director At Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support (ZEGCAWIS)

Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support is a leading girls and women’s rights
organization, which promotes gender equality, reaching the most vulnerable, and promoting
meaningful inclusion. The organization is a registered non-profit, non-governmental female/youth-led
organization that aims to prevent and protect women and girls against all forms of gender-based
violence, abuse, and discrimination. Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support advocates
and influences policies in favour of women and girls. ZEGCAWIS creates awareness and sensitizes
communities on Sexual and reproductive health rights, prevention of sexual and all forms of gender
based violence information, and response services. ZEGCAWIS has been in existence since 2016, it
became officially registered with cooperate affairs commission in Nigeria in 2018.

Working together with Relevant stakeholders, women, young people, supporters, and partners, we
strive for a just world, where women and girls as well as children’s rights will be protected and
supported, a world where everyone will have equal access to opportunities, economic empowerment
and be treated with respect and dignity irrespective of their sex, gender, Race and religion differences
We are looking for experienced and dedicated staff to fill in the following :

JOB TITLE: Program and administrative Director
CONTRACT DURATION: 5 month with possibility of extension based availability of fund.
LOCATION: Maiduguri
DEADLINE: 13 th January 2023


Purpose
The Program and administrative Director is to coordinate all program and administrative activities
and ensure quality implementation of programs, monitoring and evaluation of all program activities
in the ZEGCAWIS implementing locations.Dimensions of Role
• Effectively supervise all direct reports in the performance of their duties
• Ensure the proper implementation of ZEGCAWIS’s performance management system for direct reports, including job description and annual performance objectives development,
regular feedback, mid-term reviews and annual performance appraisals.
• Proactively address performance issues through regular, constructive and honest feedback and coaching.
• Identify necessary staff development and career development opportunities for direct reports.
• Ensure levels of authority and responsibility are clearly defined, understood and followed by direct reports.
•Ensure that direct report work is guided by ZEGCWIS’s core value commitment.
• Coordinate project team planning activities, including the development of annual, semi-
annual and quarterly work plans.
Job Responsibility #2: Quality Controls and Assurance (25%)
• Make regular assessments of the competencies of and develop coaching plans for all staff.
• Ensure that the best practices identified during the analysis of the results, during the
• supervisory and exchange meetings, are disseminated and applied in all the ZEGCAWIS program implementing locations
• Spot-check that complete and up to date data and reports are maintained by the organization for all Project.
• Ensure that reports and returns are submitted to the management and relevant government authorities as stipulated in the regulations and policies
Job Responsibility #3: Monitoring and Learning (10%)
• Participate in monthly tripartite meetings bringing together all relevant stakeholders ,facilitators, ZEGCAWIS staffs and Partner to analyze the data, identify the difficulties encountered and help them find solutions
• Supports monitoring and evaluation initiatives at program implementing locations including submission of monthly scorecards and quarterly reports
• Maintain and use strong monitoring systems to track and report on activities and results to support effective delivery of program activities
• Periodically review performance metrics with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning officer and employ use of data for decision making.
• Facilitate documentation and dissemination of appropriate case studies, experiences, best practice and lessons
• Encourage sharing of learning and experience with the team, across the organization andwith like-minded/peer organizations
Job Responsibility #4: Perform other duties as assigned (5%) Not limited
only to:
• Ability to willingly accept and take up additional responsibilities

• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned by the management from time to time

PROBLEM SOLVING
There are three levels of problem-solving:

  1. What has to be done and how to do it are clearly defined, and the incumbent will face
    identical or similar problems on a regular basis;
  2. What has to be done is known, but how to do it is not defined. The incumbent must use
    interpolative skills to pick and choose the right strategy to address a given problem; and
  3. Why things are done is known, but what has to be done and how to do it are not defined.
    Situations are variable and the incumbent’s response will involve analysis, problem definition,
    development of alternatives, and making recommendations. She will face and address problems
    that are typically non-recurring.

    Qualification:
    ▪ BSc. or equivalent in management and social science, Public administration, or related experience is
    required
    • Masters in Development and Humanitarian
    Studies or related field is an added advantage.
