Job Summary:
- The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for all BFFWH projects.
- This role requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in sourcing, purchasing, and managing suppliers within the healthcare or non-profit sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire procurement process, from sourcing suppliers to delivery of goods and services.
- Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
- Prepare and review contracts, purchase orders, and agreements with suppliers.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods and services.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including budgets, inventories, and supplier information.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
- Be ready to travel to various project sites and supplier locations as required to oversee procurement activities and ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the healthcare or NGO sector.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Experience in budget management and cost control.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Hausa language is an added advantage.
