Premises Maintenance Supervisor

Under direct supervision of Deputy Premises Manager, the Premises Maintenance Supervisor ensures that all services, equipment, facilities and functions in all ICRC premises are always up and running, ensuring minimum safety standards, high quality, efficiency and compliance to the prevailing rules and procedures. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure and supervise daily requests are attended effectively and efficiently, maintaining such files for the maintenance unit; 
• Prepare the budget and performance report of the maintenance unit and report monthly to the direct supervisor.
• Update the maintenance policy for approval by the management when necessary.
• Brief new collaborators and others as necessary on maintenance, use of equipment & appliances in the ICRC premises.
• Assist the Premises responsible in sourcing for contractors, negotiate contracts, prepare contract documents, analyses, evaluate and maintain the contractors list.
• Supervise the contractors, ensuring the quality and timelines are respected
• Ensure technical trainings & all other staff matters for the unit;
• Ensure that office structures and residences are well maintained, acting on necessary improvements and preventive maintenance plan 
• Manage the maintenance workshop, facilities and control productivity
• Prepare, read interpret designs, drawings, and bills of quantities (estimates & costing) and work progress schedules for all civil works as necessary.
• Propose and implement economic and efficient way of maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies effectively coordinating the team.
• Ensures all ICRC equipment, services, facilities and tools are always in working condition.
• Ensures inventory of working tools, equipment, safety gears are always up to date.
• Analyse and formulate solutions for the electrical, carpentry, masonry, or metal works, plumbing, painting and any other civil works.
• Make work plan for all assigned duties and respect timelines.
• Plan new constructions with premises responsible and co-ordinate maintenance of buildings at Delegation, Logistics and all housing premises.
• Assess the condition of new premises by filling the takeover form and write a report to the Premises responsible on needed repairs and a work plan.
• Ensures planned proactive maintenance (PPM) of all premises to reduce or prevent corrective maintenance
• Manage all the passive security projects and ensure the implementation of all compulsory measures in all premises and offices.
• Ensures compliance to Electrical Safety and Precaution (ESAP) and minimum safety standards of the ICRC in all maintenance works.

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical)
• Minimum of 5 years cognate working experience

Desired profile and Skills

• Fluency in English
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. Knowledge of Design Software, an asset.
