General Job Description:
The Pharmacy Assistant supports the delivery of quality primary health care services under the CDCS project in Ortese and Daudu II IDP camps. He/she will ensure safe, efficient, and accountable management of medicines and medical supplies, proper dispensing, adherence counselling, and stock monitoring—contributing to improved access to SRH, MHPSS-linked medication, and general outpatient services for conflict-affected populations.
The role ensures that pharmaceutical services comply with Td’s Standard protocol on Guidance on Drug and Medical Equipment Procurement & Management, national guidelines, and donor requirements while maintaining strict adherence to safeguarding, infection-prevention, and rational drug-use protocols.
Specific Responsibilities / Context « tasks »

Pharmacy and Dispensing: Dispense medicines to patients according to prescriptions issued by approved clinical staff.Provide clear instructions on dosage, treatment duration, side effects, storage, and adherence. Refer any unclear, incomplete, or suspicious prescriptions to the clinician for clarification. Support dispensing of SRH commodities, essential medicines, and MHPSS-related prescriptions. Stock Management: Maintain accurate stock records using bin cards, stock cards, and dispensing registers. Conduct weekly and monthly physical stock counts and report discrepancies immediately. Track stock consumption trends to avoid stockouts and ensure rational use. Ensure proper storage conditions following WHO Good Storage Practices (GSP). Support the quantification of medicines based on morbidity data and consumption patterns. Documentation and Reporting Ensure accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of drug consumption. Maintain organized pharmacy records for audits, monitoring, and donor reporting. Assist in preparing supply requests and replenishment reports. Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure medicines are within expiry and properly labelled. Implement infection-prevention and control (IPC) measures within the pharmacy. Report any expired, damaged, or missing stock immediately. Uphold Tdh Safeguarding and PSEA policies in all interactions with beneficiaries. Community Engagement & Health Education Provide basic counselling on drug adherence, safe use of medicines, and antimicrobial resistance. Collaborate with CHVs and health staff to reinforce awareness on proper medication practices. Support to Health Manager & Multisectoral Teams: Assist the Health Manager in compiling pharmaceutical sections of monthly reports. Support MHPSS, SRH, and GBV teams by ensuring availability of medicines linked to integrated services. Participate in mobile clinic activities in Ortese and Daudu II when required. |

Job Requirements/Required Conditions
Training /Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy Technician/Pharmacy Assistantship or equivalent.
- Valid registration with relevant regulatory body (if applicable)..
Professional Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in pharmacy assistance or pharmacy management, preferably in a humanitarian or primary healthcare setting.
- Experience in IDP settings or emergency health responses is an asset.
Languages
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Knowledge of local languages in Benue (e.g., Tiv, Idoma, Igede, Hausa) is a strong asset.
IT know-how
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Experience with stock-management tools preferred.

- Ensure adherence to Tdh standards and quality requirements in all the project activities.
