The organization is a registered non-profit, non-governmental female/youth-led organization that aims to prevent and protect women and girls against all forms of gender-based violence, abuse, and discrimination.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Peer Group Educator
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Contract
Responsibilities
- He/She will be responsible for conducting peer-to-peer sessions with women/girls in the community on menstrual hygiene management.
- Support the club members in developing advocacy note for ‘freepadforgirls’ in the case of stakeholder visits.
- Work closely with the media and partnership coordinator to create linkage between the club members and media stations
- Coaching the club members on advocacy and stakeholder engagements
- Conduct awareness and dialogue sessions to discuss and make referrals on menstrual hygiene issues for necessary actions.
- Will include the four categories of people in the community; that’s the men and women as well as the boys and girls during dialogue sessions, awareness, and sensitization
Requirements
Education:
- Diploma, HND, Bachelor degree is an added advantage.
Knowledge / Skills:
- Good communication skills, oral and written.
- time management skills
- should have great problem-solving logic
- Critical thinking and the ability to work under stress
- well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to think ahead
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
- Must have an android device.
- Adaptation in a multicultural working environment.
- Willing to work in a remote location and accept other responsibilities if the need arises.
- Ability to willingly accept and take up additional responsibilities.
- Result-oriented and able to deliver within deadlines.
