As part of our commitment to improving health and nutrition outcomes, we are recruiting a motivated and experienced Nutrition Officer to support our field operations in Marte.
Job Vacancy: Nutrition Officer
Location: Marte, Borno State
Organization: Five Teams Empowerment Initiative (5TEi)

Employment Type: Contract, 6 months extendable
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and oversee nutrition interventions in the target communities.
- Support Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) activities and conduct regular community nutrition education sessions.
- Conduct nutrition assessments, monitor children’s growth, and support the management of malnutrition cases.
- Train, coordinate, and supervise community nutrition volunteers and local health workers.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on nutrition activities with timely and accurate data collection.
- Ensure that all nutrition activities align with national and international standards and donor requirements.
- Work closely with other sectors (Health, WASH, Protection) to ensure integrated service delivery.
- Participate in local nutrition coordination meetings, collaborate with stakeholders, and maintain effective communication with local authorities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in implementing community-based nutrition programs, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in IYCF, CMAM, and other nutritionspecific approaches.
- Strong training, facilitation, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in challenging environments.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Hausa, Kanuri, or other local languages is an added advantage.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
